  Hi, I have my bunny Lina for 1 and a half year now. I had one bunny before, and she died of natural causes. We with my old bunny never expirienced this kind of probles, that we are facing with Lina now. I don’t know what is wrong with her, she is sneezing, she has a waterly eyes, the eyes are not red thou. Sometimes fluid comes out of her nose… Is she alergic to something or possibly something like that? I would take her to the vet, but the vet is verry far far away for me and very very expensive. I have been trying to wash her eyes with Camomile, but I don’t think that it’s working. I have pictures of her doing wierd stuff, and also of her eye canal. When I put her to her cage (not often) and she wants to get out, she starts to bite the cage, now she is doing the same thing, only that she dosen’t bite it, but she just opens her mouth and leans it to the cage and that just stays there for some time. She can actually fall asleep in that position. I think its comforting for her. I don’t think that her teeth are giving her problems, because I requlary give her dry bread and crackers. I have the photo of crackers that I give to her. Please if you know if anything is wrong with my bunny please help me, I realy don’t want anything to happen to her. Also I would like to avoid the vet, so if there is possibly something that I can do to her from dying please let me know. I’m realy worried for my Lina.

  Your photos are not working but honestly you do need to see a vet, that is the best advice we can give you.
  
  Also you do not feed rabbits dry bread and crackers, that is not part of a rabbit’s diet. The proper rabbit diet consists of unlimited hay, green veggies and pellets. What besides the crackers do you feed her?

  Yeah, those crackers are not appropriate for your rabbit even though they sell them for rabbits – they contain seeds and nuts which are bad for rabbits.
  
  You do need to have the vet see that eye though, it does not look good – it’s possible it’s a tooth root problem or a clogged eye due to a tooth root problem – in any event your rabbit needs to be seen by a vet.
  
  The only thing that helps “grind down” a rabbits teeth is hay. Does your rabbit get hay?

  Yes, my I give her fresh hay every day… We live on a farm, so that’s not the problem… I hope she isn’t going to die… I’ll have to make an appointment with the vet, but as how bussy he is, I’ll probably gonna get there in a month or two fastest… I don’t think that I’ll be there any sooner … Hope my bunny will still be alive then :/

  Is there anyway you can take your bunny to another vet if your typical vet is really booked up?
  2 months is quite a long time for your bunny to wait and in that time not only could the current problem get worse, but your bunny could be in pain, potentially leading to eating less, which could cause other problems like stasis.
  I don’t mean to worry you more, but it is important to get your bunny to a vet, any rabbit savvy vet, ASAP.
  
  Keep giving your bunny lots of hay and fresh veggies to keep her teeth trimmed and tummy moving in the meantime, and (as Sarita mentioned) it’s best to stop feeding the Krackers and Dry Bread.

  There are no other vets around.. I need to drive for 2hours to get to that one :/ … Anyway, thanks for the info, I will stop feeding her Krackers and Dry Bread, and start giving her more veggies, she already gets loots of hay… Thanks for the help, I will try to take her to the vet as soon as possible… If there is anything else I could do, plese let me know.

  I don’t mean to sound rude, but crackers and bread, that really isn’t something a rabbit should be eating, these “rabbit crackers” depicted are a big no, also, bread is high in carbohydrates, another big no for buns.
  
  The way she’s holding onto the bars, suggests to me, a tooth problem, especially with an inflamed eye. It’s almost as though she’s trying to ‘cool’ her teeth/gum area. This bun desperately needs a vet appointment now, not in two months.

  Why did this happen to my rabbt?… Did I do anything wrong? What do you think it was, so I can not do it again after I see the vet. Tomorow I will make an appointment with a vet, hoppefully it can be super fast… Thanks for your answer, I stopped feeding her rabbit crackers and bread instantly. I didn’t know that it was bad for buns.. I had and he was eating rough objects like old bread, to hardend his teeth, so I tought that the rabbit would do the same. I hope that this isn’t happening because of that.

  It’s good you are giving her hay, I agree with the others, get her to a vet as soon as possible…. It probably was not anything you did directly that caused this but you can certainly help it by getting some prompt treatment as your bunny will be in pain and considerable discomfort..

  I agree. The pictures suggest a tooth root problem. For some rabbits, its a genetic issue. Not anything you did. Hay is definitely needed and can help. But if your bunny has a tooth root problem, then it will need more help from a vet.
