Hello all, my bunny bobby passed away on Friday the 13th (I know) I just want some guidance on what may have happened..

He was playing in the garden with his mate, next thing my mum shouts me and says he is making noises, he was gasping for air so we instantly rushed him to the vet. The vet said his colour was awful his gums were mucky pink anD he was lacking oxygen, we thought he was choking. He put him under anaesthetic to look down his throat, and he couldn’t find anything blocking his throat but he said his throat and windpipe were inflamed and fluid was coming from his lungs.

He was coming round from anaesthetic and unfortunately his heart stopped a nurse held him till the end and then gave me the dreaded phone call.

I’ve been devastated ever since. He was a house bunny and I’ve loved him everyday anyway I’m just wanting people’s opinions on what may have happened? Anaphylactic shock? Poison? There’s been no slug pellets down or poisonous plants so I have no idea

I just need advice and closure
