Last night, my boyfriend, a friend of ours and myself got together and bought a ton of tacos, and with tacos of course comes a ton of lemons. So we ended up throwing out the left over lemons into our little trash bin in our room. Our bun Poopy was out on his daily patrol of the house when he went bonkers over the trash can, relentlessly tipping it over every time I pushed him away from it and set it back up. It wasn’t until I decided to allow him to rummage through the trash, out of curiosity, that I found that our Poopy has an insane love for lemons.

Lemons? A rabbit eating lemons? Really? I have never heard of that. But his is going nuts over them.

Naturally I took them away from him first thing (well, after I let him have a few nibbles) because I have no clue if rabbits can even eat lemons. I’ve been browsing Google and bunny forums in search of an answer, or even for another bun that likes lemons, and I’ve yet to come across one!

Can I give Poopy a lemon every once in a while? Or is it like chocolate, and I should lock these delicious devils in a cabinet or something?

Because seriously, Poopy is trying to jump in my lap as I  type this for the lemon I have sitting next to my mouse.

Well, If you look at it as citrus instead of just a lemon then it should be ok to have a little of the flesh (No peel or pith though and take out any seeds). I’d also hide the salt and tequila

Wow! I would think it would be ok to give him very small amounts, as long as it doesn’t upset his tummy, as it is very acidic.
