Up until last week, I never took Giuseppe outdoors.  He has complete access to the entire home so exercise was never a concern.  My primary concern, was that he might hop away into the woods and become a tasty meal for  a coyote or red-tail hawk.   Ever since he hit 10 years old, he has slowed down quite a bit, and I am reasonably confident, that I can now outrun Giuseppe.  I decided to share some outdoor time with the bunny and he was in absolute NIRVANA!   I was right there with him!!!!   Giuseppe behaved perfectly and stayed very close to me.  Most of the time, he laid next to me and together we soaked up the rays.  He was not at all afraid — that’s what surprised me the most — his fearlessness.  I wish Giuseppe and I would have done this years earlier.

Aww, what an adorable picture! And I’m so happy you had such a great experience with him.

I would put up some kind of fencing though – just in case. He seems calm enough but buns can be shockingly surprising in speed when they become spooked and their flight instincts kick in. I would hate to see that happen without warning! So thought I would mention it. Even something simple like a chicken wire fence. Anything to help keep him confined if something DOES spook him!

He is such a handsome bunny! And so big!

Thats wonderful   Cotton will lay down and I sit beside him and pet him.   Glad your bunny and you enjoyed your time outdoors.

I agree with Tanlover.   From experience they get spooked they can run extremely fast no matter the age.  Harness n leash or enclosure.

Make sure harness is snug if you go with harness.  With enuf room to breathe of course.  Xpens work good too.  Or chicken wire etc.  Just watch those sharp ends where you cut it.

May you have many more enjoyable outdoor adventures.   And more pictures.

I see your bunny has a bald spot on his head.   Cotton has one on his shoulders neck area.  Glad Cotton isn’t the only one.  He has had it for years.  He shed out his lionhead  mane and has had this spot ever since.

Awe Guisseppe stayed close to you.
