Hello,

I was out all morning so I wasn’t monitoring our bunnies. When I checked on them several hours ago, Speckles would not eat, and was being lethargic sitting and lying around with his eyes closed. He usually goes crazy for food, so I knew something was up. We called our rabbit savvy vet, and unfortunately they were closed. So we took him to another local vet and got him checked out (I have not heard anything about how this vet is rabbit-savvy wise, but I called multiple vets and they were the only ones who picked up and said they treated rabbits). The vet felt his body over and said he was ok. He gave us this stuff called Vetopuinol Laxatone for Dogs and Cats, and said to give it to him twice a day, and give him water from a syringe. He won’t take any treats or water or food. I was going to see if he would take some of the Laxatone, but I just quickly googled it and some people said that it’s not good for rabbits, so I haven’t given him any yet. 

He is now acting the same he was before the vet visit. He did not receive any medication at the vet. I have some Oxbow papaya digestive enzymes, I thought that might help him to start eating but he wouldn’t take them. He moves around a little bit and acts normal sometimes, and other times he just lies in his litterbox. I don’t know exactly how long it has been since he has eaten or drank. I really wish our regular vet was available, but she’s not. 

Has anyone experienced this or can offer any suggestions? Do you think I should try giving him the Laxatone or not? I’m not really sure what to do and am feeling a little helpless at this point.
