I own a black Netherland dwarf rabbit. She’s very gentle and calm, but i’m scared she’s acting far too calm. Bonbon(her name) often sits on my windowsill for long periods of time. I can’t take her outside due to the fact that I’m often(every month or so) switching between my parents houses. I bring her with me since one house harbors a cat that I’m not too found of with their obsessive behavior to attack Bonbon, and the other with two medium sized dogs that wouldn’t hurt her at all but would give her a good scare. I don’t lock her up in a cage at all, but she is confined to my room. This does not mean I don’t own a cage for her, I keep her food and water in their. These are the details of her living situation that I hope might be helpful. Back to the point, Bonbon is very calm, almost way too calm. She likes to just lay around and sit still and be pet. I’ve tried multiple methods of playing with her, but she either gets annoyed and hides from me for a little while or confused and just leaves to lay down. She does like to go under my bed covers and hop around in there, but if I am in bed she will nudge at me and do a motion like she’s nipping but doesn’t(if that makes sense). I’m just worried that I’m being a horrible mother to her with not playing with her or are some rabbits just extremely calm? Also how can I play with her that might make her a little happier? Before my mom got that annoying cat, Bonbon would run laps all around until she tired herself out but she stopped once the cat came into the picture.
I’m sorry this is so long, I tried to provide as much information as I could that might be helpful.
