Hi everyone. Left the house for an hour and came home to find lots and lots of regular shaped poop! Yay!
The thing is, here in Buenos Aires, the only type of hay I can get is alfalfa hay, and with lots of difficulty. And because my country has closed importations I can’t even try to bring something from other countries. I know alfalfa isn’t the ideal type but between alfalfa and bad-quality pellets I give her alfalfa (when you go to a pet shop here and ask for “rabbit food” they give you the pellets that have corn and seeds in them and advertise it as the daily-give-all-you-can-eat rabbit food).
I have finally found a man who works in the countryside and he brings alfalfa hay, alfalfa pellets and cubes. So needless to say, she gets… unlimited alfalfa.
She gets treats very rarely (once a week or less) and they are apple slices (very little) or a third of a cherry. Regards veggies, she likes basil, endive and arugula. Up to now these are the only types she’s tried but she eats them like it’s the end of the world and it’s the last green leaf on earth. However, I’ve just started easing her in on the veggies (she gets one type every three or four days) and I’ll try to give her more once I know that they’re not the cause of this.
And the only veterinarian that I have found in my city is very close to my house but she’s not a rabbit nor exotic pets specialist (however, she knows lots about rabbits) and I took her once when I just got Pamper for her initial exam.
Had this problem continued, I would’ve taken her to the vet, I couldn’t stand her looking so glum
Thank you guys!
