I posted about this about a week ago. I will try to be as detailed as possible.
Samson is a male flemish giant, almost 1 year old, neutered in October. He is litterbox trained.
About 2 weeks ago I noticed a spot on the tile by the fireplace with one small poop. It was definitely urine. After that I started noticing small spots on the wood floor, sometimes quarter size, some about the size of a dime. I can’t say 100% if they are pee. However the other morning there was a pee puddle in the kitchen. It was not in a corner it was just in the middle of the floor.
I had brought a female bunny home a week and a half ago but kept her upstairs in neutral territory in a bedroom. The only time she was on our first floor is when I set the crate down. I could not get them to bond and so I took her back to the rescue
I took Samson to the vet the morning I found the pee puddle. Urine analysis came back pretty OK with some sludge. She told me it can be that he has too much calcium and to try to get him to drink more water even though it seems he drinks a TON….I fill his water bowl up twice sometimes three times a day…..but he is a 11lb Flemish.
Yesterday I cleaned the floors with vinegar and water. Last night I noticed two puddles on the floor. One that we are pretty smelled like urine, again not in a corner and the other spot did not smell like urine.
On to today……. I was laying on the couch and petting Samson and he was nuzzled in my neck for awhile while I was petting him. When he got up I noticed a huge wet spot on the couch where his butt was. I thought it was pee but when I put a paper towel down it did not turn yellow, and it did not smell like urine at all. I even had my boyfriend smell it! This is just too weird. I don’t understand what is going on. Why is he peeing randomly? Does the fact that it isn’t in a corner matter? And why does it not smell like urine sometimes????!!!!
Is kale too high in calcium to give him? He LOVES it and I give it to him daily along with other veggies like romaine, cilantro, dill, spinach, and parsley. He is on a timothy based pellet by Oxbow and of course he has plenty of hay. He is eating fine and his poops look fine besides the random odd one.
Sorry for all the questions but I am just bewildered as to what could be going on!!
