*fingers crossed* I will be purchasing my first house soon!
The problem is that the entire place is carpeted (and a neutral, easily stained carpet at that!). I think that I want to remove the carpet and replace the flooring, but don’t know what would be best. Here are the factors:
1. Banner is a mini rex – he would need to have something that would be comfortable for his paws (right now he’s on laminate with tons of carpets and fleeces but hey, I have the chance to spoil him now, so why not?)
2. Merry sheds. A LOT. That’s why I’m thinking of removing the carpeting – I haven’t found a vacuum that can stand up to her shedding on a carpet.
3. The room is technically a bedroom and would probably still be a place I’d have a futon in case my parents visited. I don’t want to put something unattractive in there.
4. I’m on a budget, of course!
5. Merry’s been missing her litterbox (pee) for some reason lately….
Given those things, what do you guys think?
A. keep the carpets but cover them up?
B. replace the carpeting with something else?
1) hmm, radiant heat floors (I’m in Vermont) [although probably expensive]
I would LOVE to make this “their” room but I need to have some place to keep the ‘rents if they visit
and the basement isn’t finished yet.
Would love thoughts – I’ve been gone from this forum too long. Missed you guys!
