I set up a play area in my sunroom today for the bunnies since it was a nice cool day, perfect temp in there for them. They seemed to be enjoying it out there for maybe an hour or 2 I had them out. But then my dogs inside got startled by something in the front yard & started barking pretty obnoxiously. My bunnies are used to them barking but they got super frightened of it this time & started scampering all over the sunroom, I think because the dogs usually don’t bark as crazy as they did today. So I decided to put them back in the comfort of their own room.

They calmed down rather quickly & decided to nap. I have to say it’s been about 7-8 hours and neither of them has pooped or peed?? I know if it goes on for more than 12, I need to take them to the vet which I was planning to anyway, but it’s so odd to me that both bunnies aren’t pooping.

Is it possible they could’ve gotten scared so much that could be the reason they aren’t pooping yet? They are eating just as normal as well as hay, acting just as they usually would & running around the room so I’m lost :/

I agree, it’s weird. Rabbits are prey animals and are good at hiding illnesses. If either of your rabbits seem lethargic, or if they are not interested in food, you may have something on your hands and they will need to be seen immediately. If twelve hours have passed, and nothing, i would take them in ASAP. Best of luck!

Since my bunny being sick, we get very excited by bunny poos as means the gut working as it should 😀
