March already…jeez…

I am hoping spring comes soon! March 1st and 5 more inches of snow. Ugh. Well I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised. March 21st of 2008 was our wedding day and it was a blizzard with 10+ inches of snow so yeah, spring can’t come soon enough. I have just been so blah this winter. Spending lots of time in pjs on the weekends since I hate being cold and have no reason to go out in it. LOL! Albert has been thrilled with all the company. Guess there’s the upside ha ha! In April I am going to Mexico with my sister and some friends for a girl’s trip for her 40th birthday. Can’t wait!! (though this also means I need a bathing suit) Gasp!! I need to hit the gym and stop eating junk! It is so hard! I. LOVE. SWEETS! Someone please stop me.

Kbana & Tessie, I keep eating junk food, but I’ve reduced the amount Since I’ve started running again I want to eat EVERYTHING. I’m always hungry.

I guess for me it’s a matter of finding an exercise I love, so I can do it regularly. So, I feel like I can eat some junk food and that’s ok. I’m running, belly dancing and I started doing aerial hoops a couple of weeks ago. I’ve had so many issues with upper body and core strength in class that I’m now doing arms and abs regularly – all because I wanna do the pretty moves we’re learning

Well… I am currently battling shingles at the age of 23 LOL. They are almost gone, but dang…

I have promised never to be stressed again. I tend to care too much about what people think. I was offered my dream job, but it turned out it wasn’t my dream job anymore. I decided I love teaching Elementary art way too much to risk moving. SO, I was stressed about telling the teacher that wanted me to take the job. Then I had to figure out how to tell the people “No, I don’t want the job.” Turned out the guy I said no to was super nice and he could tell I was a bit freaked out. He assured me that no one was upset with me LOL. Then my phone was spammed wiht texts and phone calls Wednesday night. It was the teacher that wanted me to take her job. I was like, “OH CRAP”. He asked if I got an interview and I explained what happened. She said, “Thank god!” I just sat there confused for a few seconds until she explained the reason she was retiring 3 years early was because she was miserable. She said something about the staff not being very kind, and the current students were very rough. I was very surprised. Anyway, it’s over and I put myself through so much stress for nothing

However, I did a lot of self-discovery recently.

Pretty sure the only things keeping me sane recently are the buns. I swear buns keep your mind younger (not that I should really talk about that because I’m only 23). I feel like they are similar to the kids I teach, and I think that is why I decided to stay where I am at. Kids and rabbits are so care-free and positive ALL the time. And the kids always know when I need to hear something sweet, just like Moogle always knows when I need forehead kisses

Sorry for the rant… I had a lot built up and never had a chance to get on and post in the chat.

Bugger… I’m sitting here fancying something sweet… Rarely buy junk food for the pantry… Kicking myself thinking” if i had not eaten the entire mini tub of Pavlova Passionfruit Passion Ice Cream last night I could have had my sugar fix tonight”… Extra creamy Ice cream with passion fruit and mango swirls with little crunchy bits or meringue, they also do a lemon meringue flavour and a crunchy peanut butter icecream..

Raining here today with a winter advisory for tonight. I’m expecting sleet and ice later so, making a big pot of soup for later. The girls (my female rabbits) got to “help” make the soup by nibbling the trimmings from the celery and carrots (I used most of it in the soup for the humans but, they got a few nibbles.) Later I’ll do biscuits too but, no bunny help for that – not good for rabbits.

Just a trace of snow here. But the cold! We had windchilld advisories yesterday and today. It sure doesn’t feel like March! We are supposed to gradually increase in temperature, reaching the 40s by the end of the week. Wow, it’s going to feel like a heat wave compared to this weekend!

Jessie – Shingles? Seriously? How strange you would have that at 23. You see the commercials on TV and they always portray older people.

Roberta – Passion fruit ice cream? Never heard of such a thing! Sounds interesting though.

Things are starting to get a little crazy for me at work. I have a ton of things going on and no time to do them in it seems. I’m worried the weather won’t be warm enough next week for one of things I have going on. It is spring break for the public schools, so we were going to have kids help us with a project. I hope the warming trend holds up until then.

Not just passion fruit ice cream LBJ, Pavlova Ice cream. Pavlova is a thick cake sized meringue base, you smother it with whipped or thickened cream then top with passion fruit pulp, strawberries or mango, kiwi fruit etc so its all crunchy and mushy at the same time… The ice cream tries to simulate that texture/flavour and it does pretty well

Christmas in Oz isn’t a true Aussie Chrissy without the PAV! (pavlova – YUM!). I haven’t heard of the passionfruit PAV ‘icecream’ though Roberta????? where do I buy that? Lol…..

I’ve been getting stuck into the chocolate ‘pad pop’s’! (Paddle Pop’s/ice blocks). Ahhhh, refreshing on these hot summer days. Oh, and lets not forget the ‘splice’ (another ice block with a fruit outer with ice cream in the centre). Ok, gotta go check out what I have in the freezer – see ya!

I am non celiac gluten intolerant/wheat allergic too, I lost over 60 pounds/35 kilos when I found out and gave up gluten/wheat… Feel so much better and rarely sick like I use to be… Living in the middle of Australia’s largest wheatbelt is a bit of a nightmare when we get the Easterly winds though.
Cool Monkeybun… I played the flute for many years but always wished I could play guitar or any stringed instrument, Mum played the violin…

I need to get new strings for the hubby’s guitar though… it really needs it. And might want to dust it off too… hmm

Funny, I’ve never been big into ice cream besides strawberry – Sorbet or fro-yo though and I’m in! I used to be so into chocolate and lollies too, but recently not so much…I need to get fit!

Monkeybun – Oh wow, guitar lessons. My niece is doing guitar. Do you think it’s more difficult to learn an instrument as adult? I always wondered about that. I know a new language usually doesn’t stick with an adult learner. LOL Anyway, I played the violin in elementary school. I stopped when I went to middle school though. I doubt I would be able to play anything now. =\

I just ate two Cadbury eggs. I’m a sucker for holiday candy. I also ordered two bathing suits online today. I’m a glutton for punishment.

We are up to our eyeballs in girl scout cookies. Oh why did they have to be sitting outside the store?

I played the violin in primary school. Buuuut I don’t think our teacher really knew much about them…I’m wincing just remembering that racket we produced. Cats having their tails stepped on is sort of on the same lines. Yikes!

Easter Candy already?!

If someone can come up with ice cream that tastes like a cinnamon doughnut I’m theirs I’ll even sign over the deed to the house…Never been much of a sweet tooth although I love Cannolis, sadly good GF pastry does not yet exist nor do GF cinnamon doughnuts….. Memories of my years living in Tasmania, Jamaican Coffee at Knopwoods Tavern in Salamanca Markets on a Saturday morning… It was a great breakfast with a bag full of cinnamon doughnuts from the van next to the pub… Yes, Jamaican Coffee, hot rich coffee with lashigs of dark rum, brown sugar and whipped cream… I was a gym junkie back then so I could get away with it..

Guitar – how cool Monkeybun! My son has 3 guitars, get this – he finally gave in and gave his brother one – it’s missing 3 strings! DOH!

Not sure if it’s more difficult or not.. haven’t started yet! lol. I’ll let you know Thursday night It does help to have a good teacher, I know that much. And he does this for a living, and he IS really good at it. So we’ll see how I do. Maybe it will help with my stage fright thing.

bunnygirl – It has been out on display since February 15th here! What’s really sad is that my dad likes these coconut things. I don’t know what they were, maybe “cotton tails” or something for Easter. They are individually wrapped and my dad would go through like 3 a day. So he asked the store if they had more and they said they could sell him a whole display box worth. My mom was so mad because it ended up being $30. LOL

Actually, why are we Aussie’s celebrating Halloween? My whole street had all their lights turned out, ha ha ha….. it’s an American tradition. One year I got caught out with 2 kids (only! and where were the parents?), and my thoughts were, IF I had choccy – I’m not giving it to you!

Yep bunnygirl – I’m still getting over Christmas – hot cross buns the day after New Years, I need a breather!

Easter’s not so far away, guys,  the end of my term (and all my deadlines) are approaching fast! I loooove creme eggs!

So it seems I’ll be taking in a new rabbit this week. I’m going in with the mindset that this will be a temporary situation instead of permanent as I don’t know anything about this bun except that she’s “hyper” and “has some problems.” I’ve attempted to get more information on her but I either get super short answers or I just get blanked.

I did find out that she’s around 10 months and hasn’t been spayed. So I am guessing that most of the problems that she has are due to hormones. I want to get her spayed but I don’t think I’ll be able to afford it one large chunk. Hopefully I can work something out with my vet as I don’t think that there are any low cost spays clinics that see to rabbits around here.

I know some people do celebrate it. My best friend had a party once and her mum dressed up as a killer bloody nurse and chased everyone round the garden with a huge net. If she caught you, you got locked in this really funny wooden cage until somebody snuck over and let you out! It’s not a huge deal for trick or treaters though, we only got 4-5 last year…and the stock that mother bought became mine. RESULT!

Yer – no…. Halloween has only just become big (and when I say big – the shops selling everything Halloween), but I think it’s mostly for private party’s which I reckon would be fun (especially bunnygirl’s friend, LOL!), but I’m so not into encouraging the ‘trick or treating’ on people’s door, cause like I said, it’s not ‘our’ tradition. But I love watching American tv shows when everyone gets into the Halloween spirit and dress up, the costumes can be amazing! And no – I don’t like sharing MY chocolate!!!!! Ha ha ha ha……

It isn’t technically an american tradition… it has evolved from the ancient Celtic holiday of Samhain, where the belief is that the spirits are closer to us that day than any other in the year. Offerings of food and sweets were left out to encourage the spirits and fairies to visit and bless their crops.

I must watch too much tv Monkeybun, lol! I grew up not knowing how Halloween eventuated, just that it was something exciting (dressing up) that was celebrated in the States. (Like I said – love the costumes!!!).
I have to be honest – if I ever threw a party now, it would have to be a ‘welcome back to the 80’s’ party! I loved the 80’s! The clothes, music, bright makeup and the HAIR! I had the best booffy hair ever! (I am seriously considering getting another perm  and investing in a new hairdryer). I liked Jon Bon Jovi for his music but I loved him for his ‘hair’! I was so jealous of him! Get that???? LOL!

Just the other night, my brother and I were talking about how we wished we were born in the 80’s. I honestly feel like I was born in the wrong generation! 80’s music kicks ass! >_<

Gosh, plans for March bunnygirl? Nope, nothing! But!!!!! I was very lucky, I went to see the ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ live in Bris Vegas with Craig McLachlan (Aussie actor) back in Jan – it was the funniest, most awesome, musical theatre show ever! So I’m still riding on that high (and for what it cost I expect it to last till July at the very least, ha ha hah…). So my plans for this month is to save money on groceries to increase the credit card repayment – fun fun!

AndHenry – Well, I’m not really excited about that. I do get out of doing something my husband wanted me to help him with, so I suppose that would be the plus side of it. LOL

Haha! You know what always weirded me out? Tim Curry has been the voice of a ton of cartoon characters.

Has he? Not ‘bug’s bunny’ I hope? (just joking!). Really? Had no idea. It was funny back (how many years ago?) when I first saw the original Rocky Horror (at the drive in!!!!), and than I saw Tim Curry in a serious movie/tv role (can’t remember now) and I couldn’t take him seriously, ha ha hah!

Yeah, he did voices for Nickelodeon cartoons/movies like the Wild Thornberries and Rugrats. He did Disney cartoons for TV like Darkwing Duck. He did quite a few animated movies too. A lot of this was in the 1990s, but he has done more recent stuff too.

Blair has every Disney animated movie out (and sadly I’m not exaggerating!). I’ll have to have a sticky and see….. How cool is that!
But if I hear him in an animated movie and know it – I’m not quite sure I can watch it the same??? ha ha ha ha…..

Got a letter in the mail saying our cable internet service is being raised from $42 to $64!!!! =O My husband is so pissed. He already wants to get rid of our satellite TV because the price had gone up. It wasn’t THAT big of an increase though. =\ I checked the price for DSL and it isn’t that much cheaper. We had a pretty good deal before.

On a brighter note, I did get what I needed to get done today. Weather was terrible though. And the stupid paint won’t come off my hand.

LBJ I don’t know why our household even has a tv. We watch 2-3 shows on a regular basis, that’s it. Other than that the tv is just on for background noise, which is dumb. On the other hand…laptops, computers and handheld devices are used religiously, every day. I’ve never been big into tv…prefer to read.

Anyone reading anything interesting/have any good book recommendations?

Haha, I don’t think I could live without the TV. I have lots of shows that I watch regularly. I can’t do without internet either. Gosh, this sucks. Our internet has been the same price for years. I think the only reason it’s going up is because of this merger that is taking place. Nothing like one company taking over another and creating even more of a monopoly.

Hmm, books. I haven’t read a book for leisure purposes for a very long time. Everything I read is class or thesis-related. What kinds of things do you like to read?

LHM My ears are bleeding, but I’d probably have been saying the same thing in between screams!!! I didn’t get that you were on a, well, whatever it’s called, until you landed. Eek! Got roped into parasailing decades ago, then tricked into ziplining a few years ago. Not my thing AT ALL!!

Ziplining was ok. I did that in Costa Rica. It definitely would have been more pleasant if it hadn’t been misting though. We went on the really long one and we were going really fast and the mist literally hurt my face.

Did you like C.R? We’ve thought about visiting it and enjoying the animals in the rainforest. Oh, how far my hubby has gone, from a city boy from Buffalo, NY to a bunny daddy married to someone he knows won’t want to go on vacation unless he finds animals to add to the mix

I COULDN’T live without my tv shows either LBJ! Just finished watching the last season of ‘Breaking Bad’! How awesome was that!!!! I also watch Revenge, The Good Wife, too many to list, plus a few Aussie show’s – the ‘Underbelly’ series (Fat Tony) is a favourite at the moment, along with the INXS mini series. Thank goodness for my TiVo! If it broke (like a fridge) I’d have to go out and replace it ASAP! What I love about my TiVo/recorder, I can watch my shows when “I” want, and not every night. I store them up and have a marathon – usually on a rainy miserable day.
Books bunnygirl? I read ‘true’ crime. I have around 100, and as I slowly (quickly) age I plan on reading them again as my memory deteriorates and I can’t remember the outcome. Saves me a fortune! ha ha ha….
Megabunny – I HATE shopping too! Almost as much as I HATE doing housework! I’ve always wanted to TRY parasailing. If the opportunity arose (and I’m not counting on it), I would definitely give that a go – but it would stop there for me! Cheers.

Costa Rica was great. Well, except for the jellyfish part. But otherwise, pretty darn awesome! If you like birds, the variety of birds everywhere was insane. Parrots, parakeets, toucans, song birds, you name it. I even saw some quetzals when I went to the cloud forest. Gorgeous birds. When I went to the beach near Manuel Antonio, there was a national park there. There were sloths and monkeys everywhere. There were these iguanas too, just hanging out by the beach. I saw leaf cutter and army ants too. And so many unusual plants like purple bananas and yellow oranges. Oh and the agoutis!!!! OMG, I just wanted to squeeze them! Hahaha! So yeah, you should totally go!

AndHenry – I would cry! LOL My husband wants to get rid of the satellite and get Netflix or something. The problem is that everything on there is 4 years old. So I would have to wait a long time before there would be anything I hadn’t already seen.

Oh Boy, AndHenry. My hubby discovered Breaking Bad and watched all 7 seasons (?) like it was his second job! Love mysteries, too, and have started keeping track of what I read, because it drives me nuts to reread things, and going through a book thinking ‘That sounds familiar” is annoying.
Oh, LBJ. I really hate travelling (thanks, OCD) plus i worry about my pets, but my daughter has offered to take care of everyone while she’s home from college. I’m absolutely drooling over all you said in just a short paragraph. Sloths. Monkeys. Toucans??? Oh my! And quetzals? I haven’t heard that work since I was teaching my kids the alphabet. But want to tell LBJ that you visited OZ and went to Steve Irwin’s ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Australian Zoo just up the road from me (sorta, lol!), but it was before we became BBer’s. How exciting  if she had of been able to drop in for a cuppa and a visit on her way? I would have LOVED that! She could have met Henry personally and vouched for how naughty he is, ha ha ha! And I could have seen ALL her baby pic’s of her fabulous (HUGE) Gus, Jane, Charlie and Gracie. Such a shame….  maybe next time MB?

There’s new stuff on Netflix, LBJ. I have Netflix and see new shows and movies all the time.

I want to go to Australia! I had wanted to meet Steve Irwin, but sadly I won’t be able to now. =(

MonkeyBun – Really? What shows? When we were looking through what was available, they only had seasons 1 through (say) 4 of whatever TV show, but we just got done watching season 8 in TV.

LBJ, I wanted to see Steve Irwin’s zoo, but it’s not the same now so don’t know if I would want to go there. His dad even retired from it because he didn’t like the route it was going…

Netflix gets what it can when it can. They got season 7 (final) of burn notice a year after it aired (they go along with the DVD release times) and they keep up with Archer by being one season behind whatever is current and a few other shows. If they can’t get a good contract with whoever, then they end up being a few years behind though. So really just depends on what show you are looking to watch. They add new stuff all the time though and most their TV shows are only about a year behind.

What I do is I have highspeed net and no TV service. I have netflix for some stuff and other stuff I either watch on hulu or download and burn onto DVDs to watch on the TV. It’s still way cheaper than actually paying monthly for TV service AND I get to watch what I want, when I want with no commercials (well, hulu has ads). For current TV shows, I only lag behind a day or so. Most TV shows are also free on their websites the day after air (with commercials). You could throw together a cheap media box and hook it up to your TV so you can watch your TV via the web browser, but still on your big TV. That’s what I am going to do when I have the money to put one together – for just watching video you don’t need anything powerful, so you can just pick up a really cheap box off craigslist or something. Or, if you don’t use your computer too too much (like it’s not a laptop that moves around) you can just hook up your computer to the TV and make the TV a second display device, like my cousin does.

Gosh, we’ve just had satellite for SO long. I can’t imagine not having it. I’m so used to having the DVR record stuff for me and then watching it whenever I want.

You know what my husband is doing right now? He’s flipping back and forth between basketball and random TV shows. He can’t just sit and watch ONE thing.

I actually like the net over DVR, sure I have to wait one day for what I want to watch, but it’s there even if I forgot to set it to record and I don’t have to worry about someone else in the house deleting it before I get to watch it. haha

Hmm, I will have to look in to it more. Although our internet connection has been weird lately. Like we will lose the connect for seemingly no reason and then it reconnects a minute later. Really annoying.

So not to talk about my continued failed job search some more but… another job that I had applied for maybe 2 years ago has popped up again. I had gotten an interview and everything, but they decided to go with someone else (story of my life). Now I’m debating applying for it again. By the way, I have still heard nothing regarding that other job I was talking about before. The one that I really wanted and didn’t get and then they were hiring for it again too. I had called to see when they would be scheduling interviews and they said they hadn’t looked through the applicants yet. This was like 3 weeks ago or something? Feels like longer.

Yes Stickerbunny – the controversy since Steve (Irwin) passed away and the new route his family decided to take has not been popular. I was super disappointed that his dad had to move on. The last I heard he (Steve’s dad) bought up a heap of land and has a sanctuary of his own saving wildlife. But he doesn’t get the support and funding cause he keeps it private – understandably. Go Steve’s dad (Bob). I wish him all the very best!

I have foxtel here, for the home show’s (renovation) and the crime channel and if I could give those up to save $50 a month I would (but I enjoy them to much). I hate paying for tv! Otherwise our tv stations (free) have all the good show’s from the US and in most cases advertise that we get to see them as soon as it has been aired in the States. So I don’t think we are too far behind? The Blacklist and Chicago Fire is another. But the shows I like on pay tv (foxtel) don’t get aired on regular free tv.
But Stickerbunny is very clever! – my (younger) son does the same. He doesn’t even have a tv in his room, and he seems to keep up to date with everything on his computer. I can barely post a pic on BB, can you imagine me trying to watch tv programmes through the computer? I think not! LOL!

LBJ – Just go for it! Then you can at the very least say you tried. I know that’s not comforting…. ‘I tried’. But you never know???? That’s how I got 2 of my favourite jobs. I made it clear that “I wanted”, not so much needed (I did, but they didn’t need to know that) the job and I got it! They seemed impressed that I actually wanted/enjoyed that work and would get more out of me/better results. Go figure? (I had NO skills). I’m for you giving it a go no matter the outcome.

With school and work full time I’m so busy….and when I have free time, I seem to be helping people bond with my bonding website business (which has been surprisingly very busy!). It’s given me so much more knowledge on bonding as pairs and groups can be so different! I love it. A bonding hobby….who would’ve thought.

Anywho, I’m here to try and keep back up this month! Lollllll. Also, I was promoted at work! Which is awesome since I shouldn’t have been eligible until July! But I interviewed for the open position above me and got it – yipppeeee.

AndHenry – Yeah, I kind of side with his dad on it. Teri has gone commercial on the zoo and with his children and isn’t for the animals at all. Running off employees that worked there because they admired Steve AND his own dad that taught him the passion for animals and worked alongside him on every tough rescue. I heard his dad was starting over with a 200ish acre plot of land though, I hope he stays healthy to do it for a while longer.

Oh Tanlover, you don’t need to feel bad. It’s just me rambling about my insecurities. This struggle has been going on for what? 2 years now? I can’t remember. I really should just stop trying. I keep getting myself worked up, only to feel like I’ve been kicked in the stomach. =\ I’m glad you’re happy and moving up at your job. I know you were anxious to move up the ladder, so it’s nice to hear that your hard work is paying off for you. =)

Whoa, I had known that things got a little more commercialized with their zoo. Had had no idea things were that bad. Good for Bob. I hope he is able to keep helping the animals. That is why Steve did the show to begin with. He wanted to use the money to help the animals.

Thanks for that Tessie. Here in good ‘ol New York State, upstate, we had a high of 30. That -1C. Really REALLY fed up. just warm enough to be totally sloppy for walking my white dog. just cold enough to be,well, so stinking cold. But the ice cream parlor opened so we got ice cream yesterday. How stupid is that?

I know someone who studied for a semester in Australia. She said Bindi Irwin merchandise was in Australia like Hello Kitty merchandise is in Japan — EVERYWHERE. Is that still true? This was about 4 or 5 years ago. Wow, I had no idea the Irwin family is partnering with SeaWorld. Not a smart move at all. No wonder Bob went his own way like you guys said. It was always about the animals for him (and Steve too), so I don’t blame him for wanting to distance himself from that.

Megabunny – It was 71 today and it felt so freaking GOOD! I took the dog to the park for a bit. No ice cream though. LOL Although my husband has wanted to eat ice cream when it was cold out before. The benefit of doing that is your ice cream not melting. =p

Yup. I remember all that Bindi stuff when we were there and it was about, gosh, 8 years now? It’s fun to go to Australia because they don’t have all the laws about touching animals and we got to pet kangaroos and hold koalas! My hubby doesn’t travel anymore so we don’t get all those great free miles and Marriott points, but the kids enjoyed some pretty amazing trips with us. Great memories.

I suppose you “can” touch animals here. Most you probably wouldn’t want to try touching. LOL I know what you mean though. You always see people holding koalas on TV.

Well, there’s good news and bad news. The good news is that I was given a lot of direction and my survey questions will be taken from previous studies (no need to test the validity like I would if I designed the questions myself). The bad news is that I’m not exactly sure how to do the stats on direction this study has taken. I have a hard enough time with stats as it is and now it looks like it will be more complicated than simply comparing each independent variable to the dependent variable. Agh!

Yer, the Irwin thing did get that bad and when Bob got ditched they lost a lot of support locally (Australia/Queensland). I am no longer a fan and do not support them, and I am sad to say I actually can’t stand them, especially Bindi (and the son Bob is being taught to act the same) – the over acting of excitement (it suited Steve cause he didn’t try….), thank goodness she is no longer in our tv adds anymore. I think the only way they are surviving is tourism, they are the only zoo north of Brissy (Brisbane) and Steve’s good name. Recently it was announced Bindi is teaming up/supporting Sea World in the States, she has received a lot of flak for that locally too. The Bindi souvenirs are no longer out and about (maybe at the zoo?) but nothing like it used to be (again, thank goodness). I hate to say this – but no one (that I know) likes them or agrees with anything they did after Steve died, especially kicking Bob out! I think the issue we Aussie’s have – Steve wouldn’t be happy with the direction his and his father’s zoo has taken.

Yeah, I can’t help but think Bindi would be way different if her dad was still around. When I heard the Sea World announcement all I could think was “Wow, that is not what Steve Irwin was about AT ALL!” – It’s like they are using how much we all loved him to sell the brand. I know the kids aren’t to blame, they are just kids. I just can’t believe his wife did all that … especially with how devoted he was to her, the poor guy gets his work destroyed so soon after he dies by the person he loved. Makes me sad.

It’s so nice having Aussie insiders like you AndHenry! I had no idea that people in Australia felt that way. I didn’t know how bad it was though until recently. I try not to think about Steve too much because it makes me so sad. I loved him and wanted to meet him so bad. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard he had died. It has stayed with me this whole time. Is that weird? LOL

AndHenry – I took a stats class and I don’t think it taught me anything useful. They didn’t show us how to use software or anything. I’m a pretty pathetic grad student.

You nailed it Stickerbunny! And Bindi (and her younger brother Bob) have been taught (in my opinion) to ACT that way. Such a shame, the whole ordeal. Oh well, done now. I even heard (don’t hold me to this????) that Bob (Steve’s dad) no longer has relationship with his grandchildren and he is devastated. Now that’s sad. Like I said, they lost a huge fan base in Oz when Teri chose the commercial side of the zoo over family and the genuine love and respect of the animals. I hope she is rich (why else do it?) and happy?

Yep – I remember exactly where I was too when Steve died! I was waiting to have dinner at the local pub and it was a whisper that went around the room and no one believed it. Talk about getting a room full of strangers together and talking! Disbelief!
Not that I have read it yet…. but the guy who actually filmed his death (underwater) has just done an interview with an Aussie magazine. I’ll be lining up in the longest que., at the supermarket to read the article as I wait to be served. (I don’t buy mag’s anymore – I read while I wait then put it back, ha ha ha…). Ran into someone I used to work with last night. She got a nursing degree and has a job at a hospital now. She asked what I was doing. I told her. Interested, her mom who was sitting next to her was like “oh what do you do there?”. I listed some things. Then her mom asked me if I made a lot of money doing that. Before I could answer, my ex-coworker was like “oh I’m sure she does, she has all these fancy degrees”. It felt a bit awkward, so I just didn’t say anything. I know how much she makes since she told me when she was first offered the job what they offered to pay her. Uh, yeah, she makes more than twice as much as I do (per hour). Oh and I only have one degree. LOL, that would be the bachelors degree in biology. My masters is still incomplete.

Don’t mind me, just rambling. Today was pretty uneventful. I was a bit upset about one of our snakes though. It looked like someone had hurt him. Most likely it was an accident, but people need to be more careful with him.

Waiting for a huge snowstorm here in NY. They already cancelled school by about 7:00 tonight which is highly unusual. They’re saying upward of 18 inches when it’s all done…or was that 20? It keeps changing.

The vet said we have to wait two weeks to get Teddy neutered, so that’s a bit irritating.

I’m also itching to get another bunny… which is so stupid seeing as the two I have aren’t even bonded yet, haha! I’m already thinking what breeds I might want… I don’t think realistically I’ll be able to get one for a couple of years.
I just cant help it, these bunnies are an addiction!

Also, I’ve just started playing the sims again…. big mistake when I have essays due! It’s so addcitive!

Uh Oh. Bunny collecting is hitting another of us Ha ha! It really is addicting. I’m starting to think if I stick with smaller breeds, I could have MORE. Having a giant is like feeding and cleaning a couple of bunnies, and my giant isn’t as big as some of these people’s flemmies. Then I get a sick one and it feels like 100. But you’re young. You have more energy than I. One of the kids at school and I have an on-going joke. I call him whatever name I think of and he always comes back with “Betty White”. I’m not THAT old and hardly any gray hair! The other kids are horrified when he calls me that, but it’s just our thing.

Picture taken out our front window this morning. It’s been snowing a couple of hours now. My dad who lives 14 miles away said it’s not snowing there. I told him he must be missing something. Wow! This took forever. I’d better find something to do with my snow day other than BB especially since hubby is working from home and very busy with that!

Oh Yeah… Bunny collecting… Miss Pandora might be staying… My Mother the first to be outraged when I take in a foster is now saying that I can’t possibly send her to another home… I was already teetering…. Bubs MUST go as I can cope with 8 but 15 is just WAY beyond my abilities……

Well, my brother said if I ever got up to 6, he would officially name me The Crazy Rabbit Lady…so what does that make you?? My dad doesn’t like hearing I’m taking on any more work, but he’s fallen in love with my Gus and calls him Mr. Long Ears. Pet therapy. Nothing like it.

Winter was awful for the northeast. I feel so sorry for you guys. Snowstorm after snowstorm. It was really cold (had school canceled because of windchill warnings) here several times during the winter, but it didn’t snow a lot. I think we are down for the year on precipitation. Everyone at work is saying they hope it rains this spring so we can catch up. Is it terrible for me to kind of wish it wouldn’t? All I can think of is the mosquito explosion that’s going to happen. LOL That and I’ll be picking ticks off of kids left and right. The ticks come before the mosquitoes though.

I thought it was going to be in the 40s today, but they changed the forecast to mid-50s and sunny. It feels like spring. =)

I may only have one rabbit but I have enough rabbit decor in my apartment to look like a crazy rabbit lady haha!

Ugh, I dislike all blood sucking bugs. If i know there’s a mosquito in a room I will not rest till I’ve killed it. Certain areas of Houston have large bat colonies living there year round. Which thankfully reduces the number of mosquitoes. Although it is a little scary to have them flying around and squeaking around the parking garage and stairwells lol.

Aww Have you ever thrown a tennis ball in the air and watched the bats swoop toward it? We have some disease in our bat population. I don’t know how widespread it is, but I miss seeing them. LOVED the big fruit bats in Australia. There we were, wondering what this rucus was in the trees in a park in Sydney, and tried to track it down. As we got closer, we were, like, “What is that mess on the sidewalk?”
We looked up and there was a tree full of fruit bats, squeaking and pooping. It was so cool!

We didn’t have any snow all winter, which is unusual for us. I like snow, it’s fun. But you get sick of it after a while, I guess. 

Much as I love my Giant, I highly recommend anything with angora in it. The personality is incredible. I suppose everyone would say that about their breeds, but I have had a lot of long-haired buns and think they’re amazing.

AndHenry, My hubby will ship Gus to you any time, but you wouldn’t be able to hide the chewing from YOUR hubby. Internet went down today. Turns out Gus got around another barricade (I think you know this AH). Hubby started picking up PIECES of wire and throwing out from behind the TV. But he didn’t get too mad at me or Gus. But I’m done with barricades. Think I’ll have to just set up baby gates for the kitchen and try and keep him there when I’m around (with litter box).

I knew she would – from day 1! ha ha ha…. Just love Roberta! (I am SO happy she is keeping Pandora!).

We have a bat prob here in Queensland – two diseases, one, Hendra virus which is passed from bats through horses to humans – lost a few people including vets and a lot of horses (even a dog). And another one (don’t know the name), from a bat scratch, and a couple of kids have died. Yet bats are protected, and once they set up colonies in a residential neighbourhood – the screeching and bat poo drives the residents crazy! plus the fear of disease and no one can do anything about it. Haven’t heard of the white nose syndrome? I too think they are cute – but wouldn’t want them living around me. I lived in a house once and the neighbour had a mango tree that attracted the bats – I hated it. I couldn’t sit outside on a hot summer’s night. But I accepted that, no prob! But since then, the fear of killer bat disease – I’d be encouraging my neighbour to get rid of the tree (and I love tree’s, dam!). Gee, what to do???? I don’t agree with killing them (no way!), but have heard they can be ‘moved on’? If so – I encourage that! For everyone’s sanity and safety.

Megabunny – Yeah, our bees have not been doing well either. They were pleading with people to not kill the “weeds” in their lawns because the native bees needed food. The honey bees (not native) have taken a big hit too. They really aren’t sure what’s going on. By the way, you can’t hate bees if you like apples, peaches, pears, citrus fruits, strawberries, melons, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, cranberries, grapes, squash, almonds, cashews, and a bunch of other things. LOL

AndHenry – Do they sleep in people’s attics? Around here it is illegal to kill or harm bats too. What you have to do is wait for the bats to leave their roost for the night and then seal up the point of entry. If they can’t get back in, then they will find somewhere else to sleep.

Yeah, I know. I grew up w/ a father who would PET a bumblebee sitting on a flower! I have a fear of ground bees, which REALLY hurt…I’ve been stung two summers in a row now and I worry about swarms that chase people. But, OK, the regular nice bees are OK Ha ha

I have a mulberry tree (perfect for Henry), lemon, lime and orange tree in my yard – love bee’s! But not when I stand on one and get stung! Ouch! As a kid I never got through a summer without a few bee stings till I learned to wear thongs outdoors. Aaahhhhh, those were the days! Going outside to play barefoot!

We don’t really have ‘attic’s’ or ‘basements’ here in Australia/QLD – so the bats are just in colonies outdoors. Gosh, having them inside your home must be terrifying! (can’t imagine that?). Oh YES! Killing bats is illegal here too! I don’t agree with killing anything, especially over discomfort, but here in QLD, they can be moved on as a last resort – but I haven’t heard of them doing that often (only twice that “I” heard of). Why not move them on IF you can? Especially when I have heard they drive some people so crazy they do go out and kill them in secret. Stupid world we live in…..

Pandora is doing really well and has recovered fully from her spay… The first two of her litter go in for neuter tomorrow… I will start the girls off in another few weeks…. Hopefully I might already have a home for the boys… Keeping fingers crossed I hear back from the woman over the weekend as it sounds like a lovely home for them.. Every bunny is a bit miffed at the moment as I have been sick with the flu and the play areas and cages are a bit dirty… Hopefully I can have a marathon cleaning session tonight now I can breathe again…

AndHenry – Yeah, I don’t know how you would do that if the bats were simply roosting in a tree.

Megabunny – You can totally pet bumblebees. They aren’t aggressive at all. I always have trouble with kids being afraid of them because there are a ton of sunflowers on the path and the bumblebees will be all over them. They won’t go down the path because they think the bumblebees will attack them. It really takes quite a bit of swatting on a person’s part to tick them off enough to try to sting you.

Yep… It’s the flu… I remember decades ago holidaying with my Mother and Grandmother in Fiji… They have huge flying foxes over there… Problem was they would get up in the cocnut trees, you really had to pick your times carefully if you were going through the coconut grove to the resort restaurant or you could get beaned by a falling coconut as they knocked them out of the trees.

Eeeek! Watching out for falling coconuts????? What got us, the bats would take ‘one’ bite from the mango (the neighbours tree) and dump it! What a waste of a perfectly good yummy mango!

Hey everyone!
I know I’m not on here much but just wanted to let anyone who’s usually in contact with me know that I’m down for the count for awhile as Saturday afternoon my OH had to rush me to the hospital. I’d apparently passed a kidney stone and it had ruptured my right side kidney. I had emergency surgery the next morning to place a stent to help the kidney drain and I’m basically on two weeks bed rest until I have to go back to surgery to have it removed.

I sympathise with anyone who has ever gone through this…there’s really no pain like it in the world. While I’m down I’m not allowed to take care of the bunnies either and my daughter has had to help with that. Poor thing is having issues of her own and the stress is really high for everyone.

In the meantime I’m going nuts being stuck in bed! 0_0 But too much motion makes the pain worse so I’m just trying to keep that under control.
I hope you’re all having a better March than I am! This month is always trouble.

I had the flu. Temperature, head aches, drowsiness, coughing, sniffing…you name it! As soon as that began to clear up, I got myself a sore throat, and as soon as THAT started to go away, I got an ear infection. Oh the joys. I hate flu season…usually because I get sick with my sinuses, but this time just took the mic!

Well, my March has been meh so far. I got braces on Tuesday.. and wow I miss real food! lol. I have only been able to drink down some soup so far… my mouth hurts too much to chew! Hopefully I get the hang of this soon, because I soooo miss solid food. Like a nice juicy steak or something… ugh!

Hope everyone turns around soon. Mimz, we’ll keep you company as you are in forced bed arrest. I often worry what would happen if I were incapacitated, making me want to keep my numbers of buns to a reasonable amount of pets. But then… And I’m sure it’s hard to watch others working extra to cover your duties you would like to be doing yourself. So sorry to hear about that.
Weird to hear Australia approaching flu season, as we are ending it.

7 weeks ago I got conjunctivitis in my right eye. This isn’t a new thing, over the last 4 yrs I have been going thru bouts of it in one eye or the other on and off. It had been over a year since my last time, so I’ve been pretty happy about it. Usually it takes 6 weeks to go away… 4 weeks went by and YAY it was done.. but.. wait… my left eye is trying to water up.. oh no.. so yea… 3 weeks now into the left eye. Overall its better time-wise, because I am being pretty obnoxious with constantly flushing it out. I had totally given up on the eye wash in a bottle from the store… with so much flushing, it just didn’t last, and the liquid was always too cold. SO WARM TAP WATER IT IS!! Right eye is great, left eye was good yesterday, but I went out and didn’t flush it for 5 hrs, so today I’m having a lil bit more issue with it than if I hadn’t gone out yesterday. Oh well. So.. I’m gonna have to agree with March sucking, but generally, it starts sucking for me in February.

It’s the beginning of essay season for me… 8 assignments in the next month and then I’m done for this year. Scary!

I was sick but I’m just beginning to feel better!

Yeah, I must have hit the crazy bunny lady status with the SIX buns required AND I’m always posting everything rabbit on Facebook! =) I’ll take it, I love my bunnies. I always tell my friends, “haven’t you realized that anyone who has a rabbit has multiples?” it’s just what we do, guys.

Hope everyone has been well (besides sick as you all seem to be!). Northeast USA DOES suck this winter. I’m so sick of walking to the bus stop and freezing my butt off waiting for the bus to get to work every morning! Started my new position this week, it’s really exhausting as I have to continue to do my previous one as well until they hire a replacement.

Struggling to keep up with work, school, and housework! Simba is also having too many bouts of stasis so looks like everyone is going on a diet change! with six bonded, it’s more difficult than one might think!

My day today. Kids: “Hurry, come quick! There’s a dead turtle in the other room!” Me: “A dead turtle? I’m sure it isn’t dead.” Followed kids over to the other room to look in the turtle pen. Kids: “See that one is dead.” Me: “She’s not dead, she just sleeps like that.” (this turtle likes to sleep all sprawled out) Kids: “Are you sure?” Me: “Yes.” I poked her in the foot to show them and she picked her head up with the sleepiest look on her face. It was so funny. It was like she was saying “What? Why did you wake me?” Then the kids’ mother said: “Oh, sorry about that. They were really concerned.” LOL

MM – How awful! Hope you feel better soon!

MB – You got “real” braces? Like the ones made out a metal? That does sound painful.

Yes, real braces! lol. My top ones are clear though, so they aren’t as noticeable. tonite it’s a bit better. Less ouch, more uncomfyness.

When you come to have them off you’ll be thinking it feels weird too.
Braces were a LONG time ago for me but I used to work in orthodontics and alot had changed from when I had them on as a kid. More bracket options and band colours.

Yeah, I must have hit the crazy bunny lady status with the SIX buns required AND I’m always posting everything rabbit on Facebook! =) I’ll take it, I love my bunnies. I always tell my friends, “haven’t you realized that anyone who has a rabbit has multiples?” it’s just what we do, guys.

Not us… Hubby has already made it clear that Oscar will stay single . Although I can’t blame him. I hate to say it but Oscar is by far the meanest bunny I’ve ever had! We love him all the same, though.

Hazel: But Oscar always looks so cute in pics that you post! I’d never guess he’s a meanie lol. However I do understand what you mean. After getting my second rabbit I now realize how much of a grump my first bun was.

Okay, so I’m a horrible, evil, mean, b%$&#. I don’t blame you guys for thinking it, since I keep replaying it over and over in my head. Yep, I was pretty mean. My husband and I went out to get some burgers. It was 3:30 in the afternoon, so the place wasn’t very busy. We ordered and sat down. They have a loud speaker to call your number and you go up to get your food when it’s ready. Well, they called our number and I got up. Right as I walked up to the counter, a little boy was standing with his nose on our tray of food (literally, as it was at the edge of the counter and he was just the right height). He had one hand in his mouth and one hand on my french fries! I don’t know what came over me, but I could feel my heart beginning to race. I did not yell, but I said in a very stern voice “excuse me”. The boy turned around and he had a little smirk on his face. His mom called him over, she was standing at the other end of the counter placing an order. I asked the person behind the counter if I could have new food since I have no clue where that kid’s hands had been. I guess the mother took the boy and the little baby they had with them out to the car. The father stood up there waiting for their food. When he got it, he took it out to the car and they ate in the car. I saw them preparing a bottle out there and everything. So apparently I had embarrassed them even though I said nothing to them other than the “excuse me” to their son.

That’s disgusting. Don’t sweat it. You sound like you deal w/ children at your job and so do I, therefore I tend to be more likely to speak to them when they are being rude. Too bad if they wanted to eat in the car. They could’ve apologized but that would mean admitting their kid did something wrong and parents don’t want to do that anymore, therefore we are raising a country of ill-mannered children who think they run the show. Now before everyone blasts me off the forum, I will say there are a lot of really nice kids. But there are a lot of kids who feel they are entitled to things and mom and dad will back them up and this behavior is getting very frustrating because they are the ones who are supposed to be taking care of us when we are old!!!

LBJ, I don’t have kids so I know that might change my perspective, but I’d be pretty mad too! So rude! Kids don’t know, but you’d think his mother would keep an eye on him?

Either way, it doesn’t sound like what you said was a big deal, don’t feel bad about it! maybe they wanted to eat in the car, I prefer that sometimes, more privacy.

You’d think they’d watch their kids, but they just don’t most of the time. Ugh.

Good for you both LBJ and Megabunny – no blasts from ME! I have to be totally honest and admit – I don’t really like kid’s anymore. My hubby and I hardly go out when it is school holidays, and after school hours, how sad is that! And it’s not the kid’s fault – it’s the parents! I would be mortified if my kid did that to someone’s food LBJ. They would be made to apologize, along with the offer to pay for their food replacement, then my child would have to work it off at home. But then again – I wouldn’t have left my child do that in the first place. My kids were bought up to be respectful of other’s, and to help out (elderly?) and be polite. Don’t get me wrong….. at home, we can laugh and be feral, and in all truthfulness, we can be quite gross (in a fun way), but outside of the home – no way! And people wonder why I’m not keen to become a grandma? If they are gonna be raised to be obnoxious brats (I already have one of those – Henry), count me out – I won’t tolerate it! Oh oh oh….. I (on occasion, very rare) come across a polite child and it is wonderful, but I could count those experiences in the last 10 years + on one hand. Sad…. I love it when someone loves my child – what a compliment!

I should explain that all I said to the person behind the counter was “could I please get some new fries, he touched these”. I did not say that I didn’t know where the kid’s hands had been, that was simply the reason why I asked to have my food replaced. I know how kids are. Like Megabunny said, I do deal with kids every day. You would be shocked at the things I have seen them touch and then put their hands in their mouths. o_O

And no, the parents didn’t say a word to me. I didn’t speak directly to them, but they didn’t offer up an apology either. The father did keep looking over at me though while he was waiting for their order. We were sitting half way across the room.

I just feel like I didn’t handle things appropriately. Like maybe I should have been a little more understanding or something. As you can see, it kind of bothers me. It didn’t bother my husband though. He was pretty darn pissed the kid was touching our food. LOL

Sorry LBJ – I’m with your hubby on this one! Why are you feeling bad? You handled it beautifully! You kept your calm, were not rude. And the point is not you, but how the child was able to do that AND with no apology from the parent/s. As a parent – I am mortified, and as I said above, that’s why I don’t really like kid’s anymore, and that is such a shame.

AndHenry – Perhaps because I was so worked up? I don’t know. Like I said, I could feel my heart racing. For all I know, my face was probably red. I started feeling shaky as I went to sit back down, which means the adrenaline was definitely pumping.

So I’ve decided I’m moving home in the summer. My hometown is a small ish town outside of London so for my final year of uni I’m going to live at home and commute. There are so many pros and cons to the situation, but I’m being positive, so hey, I’ll save lots of money!
Being in the country hay should be cheaper and easier to come by at least. I need to decide where to put the bunnies in my room, whether to find a new vet or just take the bunnies into London if they ever need the vet… hmmm, decisions, decisions!

It happens LBJ, and I reckon you only got worked up cause you knew it was wrong (the kid/parents) and they made no attempt to rectify the situation. The same happens to me, no matter the scenario, if the person in the wrong does nothing to right it, I dwell on it too. I can stew for days, and I hate it. Then I get more upset cause it still bothers/bugs me. What is so hard about saying ‘sorry’?

I think that’s a great idea Tessie. I’m all for saving money, especially if you can – more savings for your future. With the change of vet? Try your local and if you feel it’s all ok, go for it! If not, at least you still can still take your Luna and Teddy to the vet in London. Sounds all good to me! Cheers.

LBJ do not feel bad…. I am so over some of the so called parents out there these days. If any of my nieces or nephews did that they would have been called back and corrected immediately… If I had done that to some one else’s order as a child I would have received a smack on the legs. If they intended to eat inside the mother and children could have been seated at a table whilst the husband collected the food or visa a versa.

That’s great LBJ – your NOT the bad guy! The parents were! (Stick your nose and hands in someone’s food and see how far you would get?). No one would tolerate it from an adult, and a kids grotty finger’s & nose are worse! YUCK!   
  
My daughter had braces too Monkeybun and don’t tell her I told you this but she had to have the awful evil head brace as well (overbite). She complained about the tenderness of her teeth each time they were tightened. For me? The pain was paying for them (no health insurance). DOH!
But it was all worth it – her teeth are beautiful! (unlike my crooked bottom teeth). I couldn’t afford the fancy coloured/clear one’s that were recently introduced at the time, and my daughter was horrified! (cause she thought she HAD to have them to be sorta cool in high school?). But as I promised her, no will remember or care – and guess what? At 26 (now) I was right! (again), ha ha ha ha…… Good luck Mb, and remember it will be worth it, in the end! Cheers.

And Hazel, Henry is going to be a LONE bunny toooo! The thought of ending up with two of him – no thanks!!!!!! Ha ha ha ha…..

Does anyone watch Portlandia? My husband was watching it and they had the most adorable bunny ever! It was wearing this spiked color and it was so tiny! The guy was just carrying it around like a little stuffed animal, but you could see it was real cause its widdle nose was wiggling. I wanted to squee out loud even though I had to wonder how they got the bunny to sit so still. =\

CAUTION: LONG RANT AHEAD

I went to the local pet store today because the bunnies ran out of pellets and my amazon order won’t come till Tuesday or Wednesday. Anyway I’ve used it a couple of times, they have a few bits for bunnies, it’s a pretty small place. They don’t sell animals or anything. 

So I take the food to the counter and I say the weather’s nice and say something about getting the food for my bunnies.
And the guy’s like: ‘You know rabbits only live 7 or 8 years right?’ 
I’m like:  ‘mmmm’ (what’s the point in arguing?) 
He then goes on to tell me about how his sister has 30 something rabbits and one just died. 
I go: ‘Oh yeah that’s sad.’ 
Then when I left he’s like: ‘Have a good day, hope your rabbit is alright ‘

I’m like… what the?! First of all, why does he feel the need to ‘warn’ me that rabbits don’t live very young?! I’m not a child, and I know my pets. And then to say ‘Oh I hope your rabbit’s alright’ like they’re sick or something!? It’s not like he knew anything about me or my pets other than that I was buying food. 
It was bizarre. They’re usually very nice in there but after that I don’t know what to think! I’m a bit pissed off. 

Wow Tessie. That wasn’t a long rant at all. But that is really bizarre.

Yeah, wow, Tessie. Maybe he was shocked that the sister’s bunny died. Maybe he liked the bunny a lot and was sad and had expected it to live longer. Or maybe he thought you were pretty and just tried to chat you up a little bit and recanted the only things he “knew” about bunnies. If that’s the case he probably had an “I carried a water-melon”-moment after you left =)

I went to a pet-store today to buy hay, the only type of hay that Bam will eat. They do sell pets and I do disapprove of that, but there was a beautiful BEW rex that I just had to ask if it was a boy or a girl. The boy in the store said it was a boy but he wasn’t totally sure. I got an attack of bunny-fever. If it had been a girl I would’ve been severely tempted.

Tessie – I wouldn’t worry about it. For all you know, he could have some sort of disorder or something that makes it difficult for him to communicate well. He may not have meant it like that. Although I do like bam’s explanation. He was dumbfounded by your beauty.

It’s supposed to be fairly nice here tomorrow. I really should do something for St Patrick’s Day, but I don’t have any plans. What about you guys?

Can’t say I really “enjoy” doing it. I clean up after animals at work though and I don’t really mind it. The poop isn’t as bad as the leftovers though. Now with my rabbits, the poop isn’t a big deal. It’s the fur that gets all over the place. Of course Leopold has to be the kind that constantly sheds. *sigh

Yep! Nothing is easy when it comes to cleaning up after Henry! The bit of poop, I can deal with that – it’s the hay spread everywhere, but more than that, the FUR/FLUFF! It is everywhere! Up my nose, on my cup, in the fly screens, stuck to the fan (yes, really angry – having another HOT day here in sunny Queensland, I’m so over it!), basically all over my house. I hate to imagine what under my bed looks like? Best I don’t look?

Fantastic! I knew when I said you were welcome to visit/stay me anytime in Oz I’d get something outa it! Also, you just wanted a ‘clean’ sleeping environment for your trio (which is gonna turn into “4” tomorrow!). Yes, I can make room under my bed for your 4th! he he hehe…..

Just to clarify my earlier post: I don’t like pet-shops that sell pets. But this REW rex was almost fully grown and I know they put down the pets they can’t sell. I wanted to rescue him. It felt like he and I “connected” through his glass-window.

All pets in Swedish pet-shops are treated well within the regulations (which are many and quite specific and strict), there are numerous inspections and people are very apt to report any suspicion of not-excellent care. I still hate it though. At least it’s forbidden to sell dogs and puppies in pet shops.

There is only one pet-shop that I know of that doesn’t sell pets, and that’s a crappy pet-shop that only has bunny-müesli for bunnies and dusty hay. So I order most things online, except the hay, because Bam only really likes a special kind and he needs to eat lots of hay for his tummy.

Sorry, long rant from me. Just felt guilty, I guess.

Don’t feel bad for what you said bam – I hate pet shops that sell’s pet’s! I worry about them not being attended to through the night (closing hours), left in that small confined space, and I could go on and on….. Oh, and I am talking about my pet shops in OZ. What upsets me the most – when there is ONE left and it is all on it’s own.
When someone decides to hold a pet (puppy let’s say), it get’s so excited, of coarse it’s gonna love you! Get me outa here and love me!
When I had puppies (years and years ago) a pet shop approached me to buy (discounted $) and I told them to piss off! NO WAY! I wanted people to come into my home and see how our puppies were treated and to give them an idea of what to expect having one of ours (spoiled, lol!). My pet shop that I buy Henry’s food from sell’s fish! and yet the mother/son team are up to date on all the info (even bunny food)! I’m gonna have a look and see if I have any puppy photo’s uploaded to the computer – if I do I will post one.
Um, why would the pet shop put the pet down? Don’t they pay for the pets they sell? and doesn’t it cost to have it put down? Sorry for asking – I don’t get the money making scheme of that?????

Here’s one for you all…… The picture I wanted to post was of Frank (dad) and Francis (his son – and yes! I named each and every puppy we had!). We ‘gave’ him to a long time friend. A few years later – “I have some bad news and please don’t get upset”. He was killed – by foxes/dingo’s, whatever – I didn’t really care…..   I no longer (if I see them) can look them in the eye. What were they thinking asking me not to get upset?????  

IF I can get the photo reduced, I would love to post it and share it with all you guys. He was a wonderful “cheeky” little boy!

I’m gonna go see a bunch of my friends play a St. Paddy’s gig tomorrow night with their band. Gonna be fun!

I have to be honest… I woke up this morning feeling really crap and had a really bad day. Anyhow, it’s 8.15pm here in OZ, and instead of taking an asprin and going to bed, I’m having a glass of wine and am listening to the ‘Rocky Horror’ soundtrack (sorry for bringing that up again). Wish me luck on getting rid of my headache and for a good night’s sleep….. Ni night everyone. (damit janet!).

Hahahahahaha! Somehow I don’t see the Rocky Horror soundtrack as a headache cure. Poor Andi, hope your headache went away.

MonkeyBun – Are they actually going to play some St Patrick’s Day-themed music? Or are they just playing on St Patrick’s Day? If not, they really should throw something in there!

How far does everyone drive to work? I’m just curious. I have to drive about 9 miles, so a round trip each day I work is 18 miles. Keep in mind that this is in-town driving. We don’t have an expressway, so with all the stop lights it can take 30 minutes one way. The reason I ask is because I get paid practically nothing and my husband says it isn’t worth the gas (and miles put on my car). I’m happy doing what I’m doing there though and I feel like it has turned out to be a pretty good experience so far. That doesn’t seem to matter to him. I realize I can’t work there forever, but he seems to think I should be making tons and tons of money.

If you’re curious, I get paid more per hour at my retail job than I do at this job. I hate my retail job though.

Perhaps this is because of that ex-coworker I told you guys about. She was telling her mom that I must get paid a ton because I have “all these fancy degrees”. That was awkward. But I also think it got my husband to dwell on our situation more.

For me a one way trip to work is 12 mi, but a majority of it is highway so it goes by quickly. IMO unless you’re struggling financially I don’t see the problem with keeping your current job, especially since you enjoy it. I notice that people who are stuck in a job that they hate will bring that grumpy attitude home. Which can lead to other problems.

Oh we are struggling. We have been ever since I lost my assistantship at school. I have been looking for a job to replace my retail job though. It has become painfully obvious that I have little hope of finding full-time employment in my field. If I could work at this current job and another job that was related to my degree, then that would be okay with me. You have to work 30hrs a week (total) in qualifying public service positions in order to qualify for loan forgiveness. That has become my goal, have something in place by the time I have to start paying on my loans.

Not sure what they will play tonite… whatever they do, it’s going to rock

My work is less than 10 minutes away from me, pretty dang easy drive. I could walk on a nice day, if I left extra early..lol

I take the bus so I’m not very helpful with that point……I have to walk 15ish minutes (which is about a mile) to the bus stop and then hop the bus which is an 11 minute ride into work. Not too shabby. If I drove, I would have over an 45 minute commute for only three miles due to rush hour in the city. Thankfully, my bus route has a “buses only” route it takes so we get to bypass all the traffic!

Aw, LBJ. I understand your point with your job *maybe* not being worth the money…. BUT I feel like that is the only part of working you get remotely ANY joy out of. I think that in itself qualifies as a reason to continue with it. (If I’m not totally behind on the convos in the chat, I believe this is the job with the animals, right?).

I have three exams this week. Sigh. I hung out with friends all weekend as I never get time to. I really should have studied but I really needed some *me* time before my brain exploded. Now I’m playing catch-up. Really should get more caught up on my volunteering as well (I’ve been skipping my Saturdays at the Humane Society with the Bunny Romps). As well as my bonding blog/business. I forgot who asked about it (as I have been keeping up to date with the chat but not writing much). It’s something I started last summer. A rabbit care (and guinea pig) blog… which has now been pretty dedicated to bonding since that’s where most of my expertise lies. Although there are still random articles regarding to general care as well every now and then and other things I find interesting! No bus service to where I work since it is outside of the city limits. I’m trying to think what would be the closest bus stop. It would take forever riding the bus though anyway. Our bus service is terrible. My husband walked home from school one time. It took his less time to walk than it would have waiting for and then riding the bus. It was a long walk too!

Yes tanlover, this is the one with the animals. I love them all, but I also like some of the other things I do there. I get to be creative and work of a lot of projects.

Psst.. “Someone” will be having a sleepover again at my house this week too. Eeeehehehe! I bet Andi will be excited.

A sleepover? Can Gus come? I literally have to follow him around w/ my iPad,typing things because I cannot keep him out of sight for a second if I want him to really be able to explore. he’s on top of Gracie’s cage right now chewing her brush. Now a syringe that had some of her meds in it. Ugh!

I love it as a hobby (if only you could make real money doing it!) but sometimes it’s exhausting to keep up with between work and school. My boyfriend bought the site for me and helped design it so he’s always pestering me to keep up on it even when I’m really tired. Haha! Since I started doing the bonding help as well though I’m even more lost for time! I’ve been considering only offering services for a fee because so many people will message me and then not take my advice. One lady recently threatened to get rid of the rabbit who was being so “aggressive”. I wanted to give her a real piece of my mind….If she wasn’t so darn pushy with them then they wouldn’t be fighting. And it’s just sickening to hear someone talk about getting rid of a pet (what I consider a family member) due to something as difficult and stressful as bonding. Like really? Did you not even consider what could happen if they DIDN’T bond? That’s your own fault! *end rant*

That job sounds like it’s really good for you then, LBJ. Life is so stressful in general. And I know you hate that retail job from past threads on here over the months when I was more active. I say keep it! Sleepover sounds great! I’ll send the warren over to your house so I can actually get some sleep this weekend!

I do not! I actually started it with a friend who had guinea pigs – but she barely kept up on it. And I ended up writing all the guinea pig articles except for one. I had to do a lot of research to put out even one article though and I haven’t had much success in finding someone who is willing to write educational articles on guineas! It seems everyone wants to do the rabbits – which is fine…. but i need guinea writers! It’s a lot easier with rabbits because I own them and know so much about them from making myself knowledgeable to help them. Not having any experience with guineas makes me feel almost disconnected from the ability to give people adequate and understanding information so it’s difficult for me to really connect with people and not just write a researched page! ;P

Well, I suppose it would be alright to send your buns over. My guest is a bit small to consider them a food item. She’ll be staying in her carrier too.

So it’s official you guys, I’m bringing home a THIRD bunny very soon!!!!!! I’m so excited.

I’ll definitely make a welcome thread! He’s 5 months old. It’s weird. When he was a baby I wanted him. But the owner said she decided to keep him to breed. And then I was talking to her and I asked how Bam (the bunny I’m now getting) was doing and she goes “oh, the pet store said he found a lovely home” I was like “you took him to the pet store?!” I was so upset because I couldn’t imagine what could’ve happened or where he had gone. Over the past three months I’ve been looking around at buns. But none of them really reached out to me the way bam did and I’d still think back about him. Then out if no where I see his picture off a rehoming site come across my newsfeed on facebook. I quickly messaged the lady and I’m getting him!!! It was like fate. Apparently the store said he was female and he’s male so she has to rehome him. All four of her other rabbits are now pregnant because of him. It was like fate!!

The person who took Bam to the pet store messaged me and was telling me she wanted him back (I replied to the add and the current owner decided I’d be a better fit for her rabbit) but the “breeder” (used very lightly considering she just provides for pet stores! Was wanting Bam back and tried making me feel guilty telling me she regretted getting rid of him and everything. I felt guilty. But I want to give Bam a chance with our family. I hope he settles in well. The current owner says he needs work. Not very tame. So I told the breeder that if Bam doesn’t settle in she can have him back, but he’ll be neutered and everything so you won’t be able to breed him. She said that’s okay blah blah. But yeah, just to ease her mind. It was like fate that I found this bunny again!!

I made a welcome thread with the pictures his owner sent me. I’ll add more when I go get him

Well I signed off the other night with a headache after declaring I had a bad day and deciding on wine and music instead of asprin and an early night as a fix. Just wanted to let you know it did the trick till this morning. Part of my bad day, I lost my phone connection (and no, Henry didn’t chew through it ‘this’ time) and the net was super slow! Anyhow the phone guy came to fix it today – and the grief! HIDING HENRY! Because he wanted to check all the phone points, we had to get Henry out from under the bed (his morning nap) while we left the guy waiting at the door. Chucked him into the spare room, and now I bet he’s gonna snub us ‘again’ for the next week – DOH! The worst was, when the guy finished and pick up his tool bag to leave I noticed it was covered in BUNNY FUR! (if only I thought to mention we owned a fluffy cat?). Headache back! It’s only 11.25am – too early for that wine (again), asprin it will have to be!

AndHenry – Maybe! Teehehehehehe! It will be too late to take her “home”, so she will likely be coming to my house.

And I reckon that’s a great idea LEL! Helping TL14 out with the guinea pig side of her venture! I imagine between the two of you it will be a great success! And TL14 – I can’t believe people can just ditch their pets? I’m with you. Once you come through our front door, that’s it, your family! (If it was easy to get rid of family – I would of been childless and rabbitless ages ago!) ha ha ha hah……

Edit to ADD – When I worked in the City my travelling time was 1 & 1/2 hours each way (3 hours total each day). That was from home driving to the train station, catching the train and then walking to work. Then the same again at the end of the day….. I hated it! But because I actually LOVED that job at the time I tolerated it (for 5 years). I worked 5 hours daily, so I was gone from home 8 hours, 5 days a week. When they hit me up to work full time, I had to give it a miss – no way could I be gone from home almost 12 hours a day – at the time I was a lone parent with 3 young/small kids. Bugga! I used to manage the box office for a ticketing company (concerts, sporting events, etc.), and sometimes worked on site at the event. My pay was CRAP too, but it paid the bills I needed (thank fully), and like I said, I loved/liked my job. I “LOVE” money, but when it comes to working for it – I think it’s more important to do what you enjoy.

When my kids were looking at careers, I tried to emphasize – think what it is you WANT to do, and look up what pays well and see if you can combine the two? My daughter earns top dollar (and whinges constantly about her job). Yet my younger son is a low income wage earner (big time!), but he LOVES his job! I suggested a second job? He chose to live poor! Ha ha ha ha…. (why am I laughing? it’s true!). Good on him! He’s happy – but he’s still young. I do worry for his future though. In other words you can’t always win?

You guys the third bunny is home!!! He’s home. I’m so glad that he finally has his forever home. Poor guy has already moved 3 times in such a short amount of time in his short little life. But he’s finally home

Yes I’ll add some tomorrow. He’s settling in right now. He’s so curious and cute. Terrible terrible news though. Harley is very very very upset about this. He is extremely aggressive. The buns can’t come out to exercise because Harley was trying to get to the new guy. Like scary pulling at the bars. Growling. It was just terrifying seeing him like that. So they are locked up in the buns room. Luckily they have a whole room. Sally wasn’t mean at all she was intrigued by him. Kinda like when she first saw Harley for the first time. She’s such a sweet heart. But Harley was out for blood :/ I can tell it’s gonna be lots of work to get him to accept him. Gosh I’m so nervous. Also. I forgot to wash my hands and I went in there to feed them and he tried attacking me! I felt so bad then he took it out on Sally. Poor Sally seems so confused on what all the fuss is about. And then Harley attacked my husband. Even though my husband hasn’t even touched the new rabbit. It’s just very discouraging seeing this behavior coming from a normally very sweet, calm, docile bunny

Something this and many other ‘introducing’ a new bunny to another has made me wonder????? For all the pet shop stories where bunnies just get shoved in together – how does this work out? As a lot of you already know, and for you’s that don’t – we don’t sell bunny’s here, so I can’t help but wonder cause I literally have NO idea. How do bunny’s in pet shops get on, but a lot of BBer’s have trouble like NBO?

It’s probably because they’re all young 6-8 weeks. And stressed being tossed in this new environment. No one is there long enough to establish like territory or anything. Who knows. But I’m about to research ways i can get this going. This has to work. I want everyone bonded! It just may take some time *sigh* btw, I caught a bunny flop from him already!

But I think Harley was really mad to see this new bunny in the cage that he used to live in. Even though the cage isn’t in the buns room. He did not appreciate it at ALL

Well I’ll definitely be posting a bonding thread for help. I just hope people will actually help me because I really think this will be a difficult bond. And I’ve noticed the bonding threads are kinda vacant in replies and people are just talking to themselves. I just went on to see if anyone recently had a difficult trio bonding. Idk, I just hope this works out. Lol I need to call the clinic to get him in to get neutered. He was really curious about the bunnies. He didn’t seem phased at all that Harley was trying really hard to murder him. He was just like “oh hello bunny? Can I sniff you? No? And then he started munching hay. All while Harley is like bloody murder and upset. So at least the new guy is indifferent. But Harley is just *sigh* super mad and hates what’s happening here. Sally, I’m not too worried about her. Her response wasn’t aggression. More curiosity than anything. But Harley put her in her place that’s for sure :/ I’m going to be really sad if I’m never going to be allowed a third bunny because of Harley!

I have no idea about bonding bunny’s – so even though I know/love/adore BBer’s through previous forums/posts, I ‘never’ add to the bonding forums (gee, I hope those BBer’s know/worked that out????). Maybe that’s why other’s don’t either? Anyhow, LEL has ‘just’ successfully bonded her 3, and TL14 actually has her own (sorry TL14 if I get this wrong? I adore you and the bun’s, but not the bonding, I just love them ALL after being bonded and they ALL get along! LOL!) bunny bonding “SITE”? There are heaps of BBer’s with bonded bunnies (as you know), but why they may not post is cause the problem isn’t something they had to endure or came across themselves and just don’t know? Sorry I couldn’t be more help, but I’m confident we will all be here to support you and get you through this NBO. Again, sorry your special day wasn’t all you wanted it to be. (naughty Harley, lol!).

Best of luck NBO. Hopefully Harley will settle down. My sweet Gus wanted to attack my crazy lionhead, but eventually I could let them all run around together. I call it a bunny party when all 3 get out in the backyard together, then all congregate under a table like they’re having a meeting. Then we have a rabbit roundup and look like idiots in doing so.

Yeah Sally and Harley were such an easy bond. I mean they moved in together at 3 days but that was me being over cautious. They probably could’ve moved in on the second day. So I’m definitely no pro! Sally and Harley were a love at first sight couple. Which is why it bothered me so much to see him so upset about another rabbit! Haha I’m going to call the clinic here in a second to book the new fella for his neuter that way if I HAVE to rehome him (or keep him a singleton) then he’ll be neutered for the next person which is probably the person that he originated from lol but I wouldn’t mind keeping the fella all to myself! :p but he seemed so curious about Sally and Harley I feel like he’d love some bunny company. So I’d feel guilty and selfish lol

He’ll probably be staying with the name Bam. Because well, it’s Bam! Lol that’s what I kept telling my husband when I saw Bam on the rehoming site lol I was just like, ” but baby, it’s bam! That’s bam! From a few months ago… It’s Bam!” And he never heard the end of Bam when I learned he was dropped off at the pet store the past three months. And now he’s here….with me!

Funny tidbit of info… the group I volunteer here with got an app in to adopt a bun, and on it under What research they have done, they said they have been watching all of 101Rabbit’s videos on Youtube. Go Mocha, go!

That’s great NBO. What a story!! I had my heart set on a rabbit that died under anesthesia before I could adopt him and I still have his pictures and a video on my phone. Sometimes a bunny just has GOT to be yours! So glad you two found each other!

AndHenry – Yes, I work with someone who told me he would rather be poor and happy. To tell you the truth, I’m used to being poor. I’ve spent most of my adult life as a student. At the same time, it saddens me that we really don’t have any hope for the future. I mean, at this rate, we could never afford to buy our own house. So where do you draw the line? I love what I’m doing, but can I realistically expect to stay there? That saddens me too because I DO like where I am. =(

So I’m a little bummed. My helper has bailed on me for tomorrow, so I can’t take an animal with me. I will just be taking stuff for kids to look at and touch. Not sure what to take though. Animal parts tend to creep them out.

I’m already feeling better about the future bonding of the buns. I let Harley and Sally come out to play. They were very nice. They didn’t growl, bite, or lunge at Bam. Bam was in his cage of course. And I lined the cage with buckets because Bam kept sticking his nose out and I needed to avoid Harley nipping him because He did nip him on the nose when first brought home. But yeah. Nothing seemed too terrible or too aggressive. I’m feeling better about it

Rini is dehyrdrated and her creatinine levels are thru the roof. she’s at the gilbert avian & exotic vets right now. they’ve got her on fluids and are going to monitor her overnight. the massive amount of water she was drinking in sept-december might have been early stages of kidney disease

Yup. My sympathies to you about Rini. Gracie is in hospice care right now w/ bladder cancer. All we can do is keep them comfortable and let them go when we know they’ve had enough. Take care. And think hard how far you want to go. I’m not big on putting pets through heroics. It’s not fair to them. But the vet will offer you the moon, so please, for Rini, think your decisions through carefully.

Oh Megabunny – I am SO sorry to hear this terrible news about Gracie. I don’t know what to say? In one breath I’m thinking how wonderful, you finally know what is going on – but in the next, her diagnoses is so tragically sad. Sending lots of love and cuddles to Gracie. (Gosh, I’m so sad).

Thanks AH. Gracie’s just her usual self right now, so we’re continuing as usual. I’ve kept the previous owner up to date, as she gave Gracie up due to her illness (fibro., I think) and Gracie was just such high, high maintenance. She’s very sad but appreciates updates. I just didn’t tell her I changed the name from Boo to Gracie. I love the name Boo. Just wanted to make her mine. She didn’t mind.

Do you want to trade AndHenry? You can work on my thesis and I can clean your floor? Seriously, it seems like finding time to work on it is getting harder and harder. I had to work yesterday and then today was an extra long day because I had to attend an event on behalf of my employer. Tomorrow I have off, but my husband has decided for me that I’m helping him with some things on his “little” project. Note I use the term little very loosely here. *sigh* And my adviser thought I would be ready in another week? On Monday it will have been 2 weeks and I haven’t gotten a lot done. What’s so hard is I have to dedicate large blocks of time to it because it takes me awhile to sort things out before I can continue to add to what I’ve written.

Seriously, I don’t know how you do it LBJ? And my issue with the floors, as quick as I clean them, they are dirty again within 12 hours! And while I am cleaning I tend to notice EVERYTHING else that is dirty! For some STUPID reason I thought when my kids were grown up life would get easier, it DOESN’T! And this dam RABBIT doesn’t help! What in the hell was I thinking????? I emptied my vacuum 3 times and I have enough fur to make a coat! (shame I don’t like fur coats). Sorry everyone – but Henry is not my favourite/easiest pet! (besides wanting a bunny, I also wanted a DUCK! – I can’t help but wonder if a duck would be easier to look/clean after???? Ha ha haha. BUT be damned, Henry hops into the room and my heart still melts for him! WHY????? LOL!

Oh and yes LBJ, I get the hubby hitting you up to help out. I have learned to hit him up to help ME out with something, and then he can decide if it’s worth getting me to help him out???? LOL! (I always make sure what I want done is worse than anything he could possibly want my help with!).

AndHenry, I too hate house-work but I actually got better at it when I got Bam. Because then I needed to clean the floors for Bam’s sake, which is much more rewarding than cleaning for people =)

Now when Bam is moulting and it’s spring, I gather his fur and put it into trees in my allotment-garden where the birds come and collect it for use as lining for their nests. It doesn’t take many minutes for the birds esp the Parus major to come get the fur.

But of course there’s always enough loose fluff left for me to enjoy =/

Ha ha ha bam, putting Henry’s fur outside for the birds, I’d be worried the breeze/wind would blow it back into my house, LOL!
But I do the bird thing, sorta….. a tree lopper friend of ours made a hollowed out log house for our disabled lorikeet, and when he passed we put it in a tree in our garden for the birds to use. And now that I have the dog food outside (to stop Henry from eating it inside – good grief!), when the birds pinch some, I never shoo them away (I think it’s cute). Earlier I went crook at Henry as he went straight for the vacuum cord and he looked at me as if to say why not? and what was MY problem? I so wish I could talk bunny! or he could understand sign language – my pointed finger with the frown on my face! LOL!!!!!

I really enjoy hatching things, but I just don’t have the time now with all my other pets and work, but when the kids were much younger ( probably I just had more energy?) I got some call duck eggs to hatch. I’ve hatched a lot of things since I was a kid, but these were the very hardest and I only had two out of maybe 8 hatch. My daughter was in 4th grade and what a trip it was to see her lead Dylan and Tickles around, followed by our little Japanese Chin as the caboose. They would spend the day in our creek, then follow me back up at night, but one day we had gone out and I left them alone and came back to Tickles who wouldn’t stop quacking. She was absolutely distraught and alone and I was ready to shoot myself for leaving them and figured a mink must have gotten him. I searched the neighborhood and could not find him. We packed Tickles up and sent her back to the farm before anything got her.
Next morning, as we headed to church, we were driving to the pond that is maybe 1/2 mile down and around the corner, and I never thought he could have flown that far. But my daughter and I yelled “stop the car! There’s Dylan!”
Our ducks were mallard color and my hubby was, like, ” how can you possibly know?” But there he was, by himself and my daughter and I recognized him in an instant. He was our baby! Of course we knew him. So we all piled out and the two of us started calling to Dylan. I was just about to have my son wade out to get him ( not Me! Ew!) when Dylan lifted into the air and flew straight at us! I reached up, grabbed him out of of the air before he overshot, and we had our Dylan back. We had to skip church by then, and drove him out to the farm to spend his life with his sister.

What a wonderful story!!!!!! That’s it! Henry’s out – I’m getting a DUCK! ha ha ha ha ha……
Serious, that is so cool Megabunny! We eat duck eggs at home – but never thought I could hatch a fertilized one? SO jealous!
Of coarse you knew Dylan – he was/is your baby! That reminds me (my story time, lol!). The hubby was driving down the road and noticed some teenage girl waving at him (for a lift). When he got home, he mentioned it – then my daughter stormed in! She wanted to know why didn’t he stop and give her a lift home?????  

My hubby couldn’t recognize my daughter, but you can recognize a DUCK!

A month ago I had a nightmare where I went out of town for work and when I returned I noticed something odd my rabbit, Yeti. Then it hit me it wasn’t Yeti, it was some impostor. So I asked my roommate about it and he said that he sold Yeti to a high school science teacher to be dissected. Worse yet he asked how I could tell the difference between the replacement and Yeti. Then I flew into a rage and threw a table at him lol. Long story short I ended up breaking into the school to rescue him. A week after I had that dream I went on a business trip and missed a call from my roommate. I immediately remembered my dream and had a minor panic attack. Turns out he wanted to know if he could use my parking spot while I was out lol.

Lol justwildbeat that’s such a funny story! Haha does your roommate not mind watching your bunny for you? That must be so nice and convenient!

I just got a reminder call from the clinic reminding me about Bams neuter and to not fast him and whatnot. I’m getting so nervous! I only just got him and I’m already so much in love with the little guy. I don’t think I’d ever find a bunny like him again. I’d hate for something to happen to him during surgery *deep breaths* lol

Aw. He looks healthy and happy. But you’ll be glad when it’s the, um, next day!

Teddy is being neutered tomorrow! Yay!

I’m getting so nervous for Bams neuter on Tuesday! It’s making me nauseous just thinking about it. I’m excited and nervous all at once.

My eyes seem to be glazing over. Ugh. Why am I having such difficulty? And no, BB has nothing to do with it. Even when I’m concentrating, I can’t seem to process information in any logical fashion. Somehow I have to understand what the heck some of these researchers did and then incorporate it in a relevant manner into my thesis. My mind just goes numb and I want to cry. I’ve been having cognitive disturbances so I imagine this is part of it. No one understands either. They just play it down as something all grad students go through. Sorry, I’m just really frustrated right now.

Wow, Teddy and Bam are both getting neutered. It makes everyone nervous, I think. But then you’re happy once it’s done. =)

Nah, it’s been going on for at least the last 4 years (that I can recall). The cognitive disturbances are not the only “symptom”. There are a lot of things. I’ve seen several neurologists, but have never gotten a diagnosis. I had another MRI this last fall. They didn’t find anything. The last neurologist I saw actually recommended a neuropsych exam, but my insurance said they wouldn’t cover it. I couldn’t afford to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket, so I gave up after that.

Hehe, my husband brought the hard plastic jingle ball out into the living room because he wanted Leopold to play with it. He rolled it across the floor. Leopold ignored it and the dog went running after it thinking it was this wonderful new toy for her. I picked her up and he was whining and looking at the ball. Poor thing.

So the vet called and he’s eating and he’s perky. I can pick him up tomorrow!

Yeah, they have an animal hospital with 24h care at my vet anyway, so they keep them all overnight to monitor them etc just because they can.

Sigh, I had three exams this weekend. I’m totally exhausted from school and work but this week will be easier school wise so I can’t complain. Although, I started to clean the house last night and got really lazy and never finished so now looks like I have to do that today. Sigh…. it never ends! I HATE cleaning as well! Well I had an annoying day. Some random person sent me a message on facebook. It was a photo of my and my husband kissing at our wedding. Just a peck. You know, you may kiss the bride type deal. And they said. “This is going to be one of the photos I use to a ‘sex swinger site’ linked to your facebook account and then wished me luck. first wth is a sex swinger site?! Secondly I was confused how he got my pictures and so I got in my laptop instead of the app. And all my profile pics are public!! I’m so mad! Pap patently they are individually set so since posting on my phone I’m not able to set that setting. Or maybe I can, who knows. I’m not the most facebook savvy. Anyways. I tried to report him but then he BLOCKED me so I can’t even report that this man is doing this! I don’t even know what to do

I tried making a report but apparently you need his URL, email address and like a link or something to report him. But how can I do that because he blocked me right after sending that so I can’t visit his timeline to get his URL. I’m not even facebook friends with him so I wouldn’t be able to find an email address even if he didn’t block me :/. Idk I’m not that active on facebook. I’m a part of some fish groups on there. It’s a good place to learn. But im don’t really actively be on facebook to the general public. But I have pictures in there from a long time ago. I’ll just save them to my computer and delete my account but I’m going to miss my groups I’m a part of. I’ve learned so much there. Ugh maybe make another account just for the groups. Even the facebook I have now is very private. Not even my ‘friends’ can see my birthday, my sex, marital status, where I live… Like the whole about me section is basically non existent. This just makes me so mad that facebook makes it that difficult to make a report on someone. And now I don’t feel safe even though I feel like I took extra precautions by not showing any personal information.

And by the time I was able to get on my laptop to go to his timeline to get his URL, he blocked me so I can’t even see him. And there is an option to report a message someone sends you so I tried clicking the report while in the message and it says I can’t because he blocked me! I still have the message. It’s still in my inbox. But it won’t let me report him unless he unblocks me. Which I fIND STUPID

My photos are too innocent for him to get far with them in a “sex swinging” (whatever that is!) site anyways. There’s nothing “sexy” about any of my pics lol I’m actually already feeling a lot better *phew* I’ll take down everything tomorrow. Which is cool because a lot of my facebook friends were from like high school anyways and I’ve been wanting to delete everyone except my family and the people I’ve become friends with afterwards so this is the perfect time to just start up new. The best part of being married/having ONE partner (especially after many years of marriage – for me anyway), I don’t worry how I look at the end of the day (no dressing up, make up, hair etc.,), I don’t have to go ‘out’ for any action, and even better, I don’t have to clean up my house for ‘company’! I do have a snake story for you…… (my one and only thankfully!).
I had a house that backed onto property with horses, thought it was super cool! We had mice because of the horse food, etc., but they seemed to be outside (?) and was never bothered……  (I’m guessing horse food and mice attract snakes?).
I went out to mow and a bloody snake stuck it’s head (and a bit more) out from under a wooded bridge I had to walk over/through our garden. Did the girly thing and called out to the hubby to save me! He did the ‘man’ thing and stood inside peeking out and talking to me through the window. His solution? Start the mower again and keep mowing the grass – the noise ‘should’ scare it away?!?!?! And he left me to it!
Have I said this before? Idiot husband!

Andi – Ha! Thanks for asking! I’m waiting to hear from them this morning. It’s just a case of seeing when I can pick him up, they said he was eating and was fine yesterday.

I know! Australia is known as being full of poisonous/dangerous creature’s/animals. I’ve only ever come across the ‘one’ snake and redback spider’s. But depending on where you live, it’s nothing to worry about – I have my house sprayed for spider’s and pests every year. I think just like everywhere else, you know what to be aware of and you live accordantly. For example not so long ago someone was attacked by a crocodile – my thoughts???? What the hell are doing swimming where they are? We also hear about wild Kangaroo’s attacking people in their own backyard’s (acreage lots, etc.) – don’t like it, don’t live there! I had Kangaroo’s in my front yard and I loved it!!!! I sat away from them under my porch (and never tried to approach them) and just admired/adored them. I’m pleased I did – the bushland across the road got built on and the kangaroo’s are no longer there – sad face!

AH that sounds like the deer here, tho kangaroos are even cuter! Build and build and build and the deer just get pushed out more and more.

Well it ain’t here! Our slogan for Queensland ‘the sunshine state’ tourism is “beautiful one day – perfect the next”! They forgot to mention the heat and humidity! Aww! I love kangaroos! We just have wallabies at our local zoo and I remember the zoo keepers having to carry a baby around in a sling when I was doing my practicum (undergrad) there. The mother had an abscess that kept getting worse, so they decided to take the baby away and put her on some more potent drugs.

AndHenry – Hawaii is pretty nice year-round. My husband still wants to move there.

NBO — My Lola has her spay on Fri! I am just as nervous as you are!!!! On the one hand I hope they tell me that she wasn’t spayed before and it gets done (maybe then the peeing will finally stop and she can be a free bunny) but at the same time I just want her to be okay (even if it means she has to move to the dining room where there isn’t any carpet).

Sometimes I feel FB has become more of an annoyance and a burden with all of the privacy changes and ads filling up my news feed. Had a pretty eventful weekend if I say so myself. Ran a 5k/obstacle course (ROC race) which was very fun. BF dropped by on his way back from a Japan spring break trip. I got a suitcase full of snacks and candy. To top it all off I caught a cold on Sun lol.

Thanks guys! I’m getting anxious for him to be home here with me! My husband is the one to be picking him up on his way through Maryland (the vet is like an hour away) And my husband has been gone since Saturday. It’s weird I’m getting more anxious for Bams arrival vs my husbands! Haha I guess it’s because I naturally am a care taker and bam needs me more at this moment in time haha but yeah, can’t wait to see my husband too, of course

Bam is home from his neuter! He did amazing I put the crate in his cage and opened the door to let him come out on his own. After like 5 minutes he stepped out, cleaned himself off, guzzled some water, then hopped in his box to pee lol now he’s sleeping. Yay! Handling it like a pro
