  So I’ve been thinking about how I can integrate the iPads into my lessons for art. The kids also have to create an artwork based on a social/political/ect issue. I have decided to have an (anti) Easter Bunny poster contest. I need some pictures that the kids will be able to use without worrying about copyright laws. Would you guys mind letting my kids use some of the photos of your buns? If you guys post them in this thread, that would be even better so I don’t have to look to hard to figure out who I have permission from.
  
  I figured this would be a great way to educate the kids on rabbit needs and responsibilities (or even taking on the responsibility of any animal. I need an incentive. I know we will hang them up around Easter time, but I would like to choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and really do something special for them. Maybe have it printed at a print shop quite large and laminate it.
  
  They all LOVE to hear about my rabbits and I often have to tell them that bunnies are not the best choice for a beginer pet. I think this presents a great opportunity to educate the public. Any ideas are welcome.

  I don’t know if you’re familiar with the campaign called “Make Mine Chocolate”, but they were very active on their website in 2012 and may have some good ideas for you to use. This year I’ve also seen a Facebook campaign for stuffed bunnies instead of live ones.
  
  I’m sure if someone wants to post a photo of their own bunny on this post it would be OK to use. They can say they are giving you permission.
  
  I’d be a bit cautious about the references to Easter religiously, as opposed to just mentioning the holiday in terms of a reason NOT to go out and get a pet bunny. I personally don’t celebrate Easter, but I know some schools and parents can get sensitive about separation of church and state. I think educating kids on resisting the impulse is excellent, just like with “Make Mine Chocolate” it doesn’t actually state Easter Bunny.

  Here’s Ellis, in one of his more attentive and less satanic (no red-eye) looks. Feel free to use this with your class. Let me know if you need specific reference or permission information. This is my personal photo and I give permission for your class to use it. (If this goes beyond the class/school, please let me know.
  
  Personally I’m a fan of the “Make mine chocolate” campaign. I can imagine a comparison of a big, solid chocolate rabbit next to Ellis – 10 days versus 10 years.
  
  (Also, this sounds like a good opportunity to point out to your students about open source versus copyright material. Good job!)

  I then remembered I had a stuffed toy bunny so I just went to get a picture with it, it might be perfect for this lol…

  I will definitely take a look at the “Make Mine Chocolate” campaign. I planned on using “season” or spring season. It will be a few weeks before I get it all sorted out Thanks so much for the references and pics that have already been posted! Going to look for an easily manageable app on the iPad in the next couple days.

  OK, ok…I retract the “10 days” and submit to the “10 minutes” correction.
  
  In my defense, my kids are adults (except for the husband) and I’m diabetic, so a 2lb chocolate rabbit would last a long time in this house now.

  I think pet shaming photos would best demonstrate the “joys” of pet ownership. Since this is a school project I doubt copyright/IP issues would come up. Not unless you plan on turning this into a major public campaign.
