I have a female going in for a spay today- I have a neutered male who is tightly bonded to her. I heard they may fight after spaying? Is this less of a threat with female and male? I’m so nervous any advice will be great! Do I let them see each other after surgery? Should joe go for the car ride to calm her or is it unnecessary stress for him? Sorry for all the questions!!

They might fight afterwards bc the female will smell different. Are you able to take them both to the vet for the day?

If not, you’ll have to be prepared with a second cage or pen in case he becomes aggressive towards her.

I have been told that if you have a bonded pair you should take them both to the vet together but being she is going into surgery I don’t know. After my rabbit had her surgery they told me we could put her back in with her partner if she did have one but she wasn’t bonded to my other rabbit at the time. I would set them up side by side so they could still see each other it would be best so she could heal up just in case your other rabbit didn’t like the way she smelled after surgery.
