  My lovely Bun, Dumpling has been with me for just over a month now. Today, my boyfriend was over for a visit. When he left, Dumps ran to the front door and sat there for about 15 minutes. I tried calling her and tempting her with food, but she’d just look at the door, back at me, then back at the door again. It’s very cute, but I wonder if she may be sad that he’s gone? He hasn’t been round for a few days, but is usually here every day. She always wants cuddles more when he’s been over and has been going nuts grooming me the last couple of days that he hasn’t come over.
  
  I’m a bit worried that maybe she does the same thing when I go out and leave her home alone. Could she be getting lonely? She keeps trying to make friends with the cat (who is a huge wuss and appears to be quite scared of little Dumpling) but Marlena just won’t have anything to do with her. I read that getting her a soft toy to cuddle with can help, any suggestions? I do spend a LOT of time with her, could she be too attached?

  Aw, that’s so cute! I guess maybe she is attached? That’s not really a bad thing tho. You might try getting her a stuffed friend to cuddle up with. The BB store here had really nice cuddle bunnies. Meadow, our mini rex, lost her mate in June. Now she has the lop stuffy and she always lays next to him and grooms his fur.

  Pets that develop attachment-problems like separation-anxiety most often do so after having been subject to (painful or traumatic) separation. Spending lots of time with her won’t cause over-attachment, it’s bereivment that does that.
  
  A stuffie is a great idea! And maybe your cat will come round? My bunnies have without sucsess tried to make my dog their companion, but she’s not interested in them. But just her being around them seems to make them feel as if they are actually hanging out togeather. Rabbits socialize to some extent by just lying relaxed somewhere pretty near you but not really close up to you. It may look as if the bunny is watching tv with you. I can see when my bunnies believe they are hanging out with my dog while she’s not hanging out with them, she’s just dozing, completely ignorant of the rabbit in question.

  Yeah, the chillin’ near the cat got a bit much for poor puss this evening. Dumpling must have given her a nip on the tail, which she was busy swishing in Dumpling’s face and suddenly turned and bopped boor bunny in the face. No claws, just a warning, but she did get put out of the living room.
  Dumpling wasn’t even fussed, just cleaned her face and started doing her stand up trick for food.
  
  Re. the separation thing, she was circling me when i got home from work today and chewed the hell out of my slippers whilst we were watching tv. I’m glad she seems to love me so much, and I’ve bought her a nice toy bunny to cuddle with. Hopefully she’ll take interest in it.

  The avatar is little Dumpling. She’s a mini lop, i think the colour is listed as something like lilac or blue? But yeah, Grey to me and cute as heck!

  MamaDumpling, if your bunny is getting into sexual maturity, she could be courting your cat. Rabbit’s courtship consists mostly of circling, persuing and nipping. My Bam did that to my dog before I had him neutered. He bit her. She yelped. I could see she wasn’t happy about this intense attention, but she’s a very docile dog so she never defended herself. She tried to walk away, but Bam followed like a bunny possessed. This behaviour stopped after Bam was neutered, after about two weeks.
