Aside from the typical cardboard houses, tp tubes stuffed with hay, I’ve begun looking at commercially sold toys and seeing if its something I can re-create.
I found one recently that will simple to make with very little materials, the commercial version is plastic, which I could probably re-create using pvc piping too, but I intend to use wood, in case Bumpy wants to chew on it too.
The bottles are your typical prescription bottles. I am going to use a scrap piece of wood as the base, with the two sides out of something wooden too. (I will probably just use what I have laying around the shed, a couple pieces of 2x2s screwed onto the base thru the bottom of the base) If you are not handy with power tools, you may need to be creative in the actual material and whether it is too thick to punch thru with something sharp, like a utility knife. (Like using flat paint stirring sticks as the side, maybe glued with wood glue to the base) Poke/drill a hole thru the side braces and thru the bottles. Drill a couple small holes thru the tops of the bottle caps. Then put in a few pellets/ fav treats inside the bottles. The rabbit will have to stand and “dig at” the bottles, making them spin and dropping a few treats out.
Again, I saw the commercial version of this, and the bun seems to really like it. I have access and know how to use power tools, so this will be easy for me to do. Perhaps it is something you can do too.
