I have a sinus infection… its not too bad because I’m not running a fever, but I’m worried that after playing with my rabbit that he could possibly catch it. could this happen?

You can play with your bunny. Bunnies can get colds, but they’re bunny-colds, those don’t pass over to humans either. It’s the same with dogs and cats.

okay, thanks! I was just worried the bacteria could be passed to him… my other bunny caught pasteurella (the snuffles) from cats before we rescued him and he had to be put down…

That can happen so if you suspect that you have the snuffles due to pasteurella, it could pass over to your bunny. But most human snuffles are common colds and those are not contagious between species exept for the well-known pig-flu and bird-flus, where the flu-virus has mutated to be able to cross the barrier between species. If you suspect pasteurella in yourself, you should see a doctor and have antibiotics prescribed.

If you feel worried you could perhaps use a surgeon’s mask and take care to wash your hands properly before playing with your bunbun.
