Hi I was wanting to make an indoor cage for my bunnies.  They don’t like the bare floor and are not litter trained as of yet.  Can anyone suggest a safe flooring for them? Thx

IA nice woven cotton rug or mat would be good… Something that can be taken out and washed or hosed would make it easier if there are any accidents..Also look round for people getting rid of carpet… You could cut up several pieces and just dispose of the old as you bring in the new…

We just went to carpet right, our local carpet show room and they gave us an onld display Meter squared mat to use. cut up and fits in cage well.

              http://www.overstock.com/Bedding-Bath/Horizons-Fleece-King-size-Blanket/5606389/product.html

these folded in half are perfect size for an 2×4 panel x-pen, bedspread, or couch bunnysnuggler. if your pen is larger, put a smaller fleece blanket on sthe side with their litterbox, and flattened cardboard boxes in the litterbox area. that way it is easier to pick up and clean the one that gets stuff kicked all over it. (i just take it out in the back yard and shake it)

im sure they have something similar outside the US, but this brand is super cushy soft. sometimes on cold mornings i’ll just throw one around myself and wear it around the house

Ok thanks for the advice. I think I’m just scared they will eat the carpet.

When my bunny was little he nibbled some carpet down pretty bad. Didn’t hurt him, but it hurt the carpet! I use some outdoor carpeting that can be wiped down, but he has been potty trained (with minimal, not-recent accidents) since he was 8 weeks old.
