I’m at the end of my rope. Hopefully someone else has experienced this and can offer some advise. My 2yo male was neutered almost 3 weeks ago. When he first go home he was the same, spunky little man. But as the days/weeks have moved on, he’s gotten less and less active and friendly. He’s not unfriendly, but he doesn’t come near me for pets and usually hangs out in my bedroom alone (where it’s quiet). He’s eating and pooping and if I offer him a craisin he can’t run fast enough.
Sorry for the novel, but I just hate seeing him lonely (or is he? how can i tell?) and I’m not sure what I can do to remedy the situation. I really don’t want to get another bun (financial reasons). But I would rather be poor than see Ziggy miserable.
Should I remove his litter box, hay and water from the bedroom so he’ll be in the living room more? His cage is in the living room and I usually put him in it during the day when I’m at work. At night, when I sleep, I either put him in the cage or leave him in the bedroom with me and close the door. I’ve given him a lot more freedom now since the marking/spraying stopped. He’s practically free roaming now.
