        Hi all,

One of my rabbits very recently lost his younger brother Tico and he hasn’t been eating since this morning. I’m concerned because I’ve read on many sites that spending time with the body of the deceased is crucial in letting the surviving mate accept their death and I’m not sure if my bunny’s done this. We knew he passed away during the night meaning that Mochi would have spent at least some time with the body and in fact when we first discovered Tico he was eating just fine. We’re assuming that sleeping on his own for the first time may have put him off his appetite. I’ve given him lots of cuddles and sat with him as much as I could but he turns away any food I try and offer him. Besides the loss of appetite and an obvious dip in character I haven’t noticed anything else amiss with him.

We’re considering introducing a new companion for Mochi when he’s ready but for now, is there any way we can get him to start eating again?

        Thank you,

        Jennifer.

I would really try to entice him with any fresh greens that he loves. He probably is confused too as to why his brother is not there. Hopefully he will come around very soon.
