Apollo is one of those bunnies in permanent molt.

But anyway, usually, when I clean him out, he comes out for a run. I did that today, and he was very active, jumping around and exploring. When it comes to the time where he is to go back into his condo, he will jump in, poop a few times on the fleece, then hop in his litter tray to do the rest of his poops and pees. Today, he did not. He jumped in, hopped straight in his tray and began to eat hay. That was about 2ish hours ago. I thought ‘Great! Finally litter trained!’ However, I’ve just been back to check, still no fleece poops…and no litter tray poops or pees either. He’s eating hay and acting pretty normal, jumping around and hopping between his levels…but should I be worried?

It might depend on how much he ate before he came out to run about. If he’s eating hay now though, I think you’ll have a good poop delivery before the day is out.

It’s really hot in my State and I noticed my rabbits were going hours without using their box. Then by early evening they started to become more active and start grazing on hay.

If you have some fresh greens that he likes, you can rinse them in water and give them to him wet to ensure that he gets water. You can also do tummy-rubs. Other than that you’ll just have to keep an eye on him for now. Since he’s eating and moving about, hopefully there will be poop soon.

My Henry spends ‘hours’ at a time away from his litter tray daily and I never find his poops anywhere around the house – only his toilet. I thought that was normal? I was gonna say I wouldn’t be concerned – but if this isn’t the norm for your guy Apollo, go by the good ol BB rule and just keep an eye on him (poop) over the next 24 hours. I get what Jersey just said about the heat – during our heatwaves here over the last few weeks, Henry didn’t eat till the night cooled (and I can guess what he did for the rest of the night?!?!). How’s your weather been in WA? But yer – if he seems happy enough, I wouldn’t be to concerned just yet. Wishing you bunny poops soon Bunnygirl.

Edit/ADD – Don’t even start me on the constant state of moulting??????

Well, it’s has been pretty hot recently here in WA. It cooled off a little this evening, AND we got poops! Hooray!!

AH – you’re lucky! I’d love for Apollo to poop only in his tray….cleanup would be a breeze! It’s just because it’s the norm for him to leave poops outside the tray – quite a lot of them. Oh wow another permanent moulting bunny?! Somebody to feel my pain! >:/ Hair. Everywhere.
