Gimli is a year old as of the 28th and Thorin is about 4 months old.
Thorin just got neutered last week and for the first time in about a month I let them see each other and it went bad. they peed all over each other, attacked each other, and if I didnt split them up they might have killed each other.

I need some serious help because my husband is freaking out about the idea that they cant be together and said if we cant figure it out we have to get rid of one. I need help

I would wait until both bunnies have been neutered for at least 4 weeks. It can take 4-6 weeks for hormones to dissipate so I wouldn’t despair quite yet. Keep them separated and wait out the time and then re-introduce them in completely neutral territory.

Bonding progression usually goes like this:
          Neutral > Semi-neutral > Cementing

Have you read the BB article on bonding? It can really help:

I would also read through some threads in the bonding section of the forums. You have about 3-5 more weeks to prepare so don’t give up yet.

I am in the process of bonding, but one is not neutered so they are not happy even seeing each other. He gets neutered Tuesday and then we move to a neutral territory.
Anyways, I just keep them separate. And once the new guy is fixed and healed, I’ll let them live closer to each other. Just takes time.

But, to me, getting rid of one is not an option. I have learned you can have unbonded rabbits, one of the ladies at my HRS has 5 unbonded. I figure how difficult could having two unbonded be if she has five?! It just means they can’t be out around the same time.

Putting them together when hormones are still involved can be extremely dangerous. Definitely wait for them to wear off. I wouldn’t let them near each other but don’t be distressed about how the bonding session. Hormones can be a huge problem and can make bonding nearly impossible. When hormones are all wore off, most buns have a much better session. Just be sure to keep them clearly separated and not in vision of each other so they don’t hold a grudge against the other bunny……they are notorious for holding grudges!
