I took Snickers to the vet for his sore hocks, and she recommended a foot relaxing pad that has flaps to hook it onto the cage. It also has slits so his droppings fall through and I dont have to shake them out. She said that you can’t get them at a regular pet store, but there arent any rabbit stores in the area. I’ve looked on amazon, but the shipping cost is $16 even though the pad itself is only $5. Anybody know of any other places to get them online (that I know i’m actually getting what I’m paying for)??

I’ve never heard of one but it sounds cool-can you post a picture of what it is?

If your rabbit is on a wire bottom cage you need to get her off that entirely – I know these things but the best solution is off wire bottom cages all together.

I agree with Sarita. Rabbits shouldn’t be on wire especially ones with sore hocks. Being on wire is just going to exacerbate the issue.

Search the term “cage floor matting” and you might have better luck. I’ve seen th called E-Z floor mats also.

While these will give some protection from wire floors, if a rabbit has already developed sore hocks they will really need more cushioning.
If you choose to use these mats I suggest putting very thick layer of clean straw on top and replacing it regularly.

Ideally though, solid flooring and training your rabbit to use a box would be the best long term solution.
