My 6month old mini lop, Patsy, will be spayed on Weds.
Her and her brother Pascal had a lovely baby bond but were separated for his neuter on December 4th.
They have been in pens right next to each other and I’ve been swapping toys and blankets over daily, as well as swapping the two of them over every few days.
In recent weeks they’ve has supervised playtime together again which has gone really smoothly, you wouldn’t know they’d been apart!
…until this weekend that is, when my slightly grumpy Patsy got a whole ton of hormones in literally a few seconds and became a thumpy, stompy, grunty, nippy girl!
Patsy started to hump Pascal, and the poor boy looked upset and confused. I separated them immediately since Patsy’s behaviours are hormone driven right now and she clearly had no control!
As soon a I separated they were begging to be back together and still snuggle down ‘together’ through the pen bars that separate them. So I’m *hoping* the humping has been fully forgiven!
I can’t wait to get these two back together, but when should I start? Is like to go back to shared play time ASAP because they are pining for each other, but I don’t want to risk more humping, if only because I don’t want Patsy to hurt her tummy full of stitches!
I know Patsy will be out of action for a few days post op anyways, but when should I start bonding? And when can I be fairly confident that Patsy’s hormones are more settled?
