  I think Finn gets bored in the morning. Since its been cooler in Florida Finn has been spending a lot of time on the porch hanging out, enjoying the weather. However every morning he seems restless. He has half the porch to himself and the other half is blocked off for human use. Every morning he tries to move the fence (it’s 4 x-pen panels, one side is zip tied to the door, the other side is held in place by a weight). He can move it back and forth but cannot move it open. The sound of him dragging the metal across the concrete always wakes me up, and I’m worried my neighbors will start complaining. I have a feeling he tries to move the fence whenever our tabby cat jumps over it to get to the living room. Finn loves to spend time with him.
  
  This morning I got up and spent a few minutes with Finn and gave him a few cranberries and a treat block to occupy his time, but once he finished it it was back to moving that stupid fence.
  
  Is there anything I can do to keep him entertained without having to lock him up at night?

  Sounds like he’s found a new project. You could always just try to divert him to another project that is more appropriate if that would even be possible.

  I agree with Sarita that he’s decided his new construction project is moving the fence. You can put some things in front of it, like boxes, to maybe divert his attention to something else.
  
  Rabbits are most active in the morning and evening, so it’s common for them to get into things around that time.

  I ended up putting his crate against it this morning and it seemed to help. It’s a shame though because laying there is one of his favorite places on the porch.
  
  You mention it’s his new “project”. I can see that, especially since he figured out how to move it over and escape before I put down the weight. Do you have any ideas for another project I could entice him with? He doesn’t play with toys, but he loves treats. I make him treat balls in paper tubes but those never last long.

  I wonder if he would enjoy tossing something since he likes to move things around – maybe some baby keys.

  My rabbits love doing construction in a long flat cardboard box. It has a bottom rectangle and top which are slightly askew, so they hop in and out of it and go inside and dig and chew. It was the box that our 4 ft birdcage came in.

  I took a box, cut a hole in it (like a dog house), filled it with shredded yellowpages and sprinkled treats inside. He loves digging around for the treats or just going in there to rearrange the shredded paper. lol!
