Had program on lippazan horses was good.
Well 2 1/2 weeks to go. Finally warm tomorrow to let Cotton out to run. Been a week. Am so tired of cold. Then I think of those people up north and in georgia here too. Oh I can only imagine how they feel. They have to be hating it.
Hope they warm up soon too.
I am going to miss my Mom and Uncle. I could save $ to fly out here if Mom keeps Cottons little cage and rug. And set up his xpen. Stay for 2 months n fly home with Boo in 2 years from now. May take that long to save $.
Housing said Cotton coming back is ok too. Hurrah. Whats that song I wanna go home I wanna go home oh how I wanna go home lol.
Y’all stay warm and cozy.
Oh Mom wrapped her pipes outside. One looks like a goose lol. I said Mom you got a goose in the yard lol. Mom will be mailing some of the stuff tomorrow. Then we mail stuff next week n the next. thats nice she is going to help with mailing it back.
Well let me go give Cotton Boo some bunny love.![]()
Yeah I’m definitely done with the cold! It was beyond cold Monday and Tuesday here in Ohio (-40 windchill!) Might as well have been in Alaska!
We’ve been watching those survival shows lately where the guys are stranded in remote areas (jungles and islands) with pretty much a knife and that’s it! I don’t know why I’m so into it… Our idea of “roughing it” is when the Internet goes down! Lol!
there was one called naked and afraid. I haven’t seen it tho Stuck out there with just a knife Oh that has to be hard.
I really hope y’all warm up there Beka.
We’re warmer here today! About 50 degrees!
We really like the Naked and Afraid show! They put two strangers together in a remote area for 3 weeks! They’re usually friendly with each other the first day or two, and then everything falls apart when they have to start relying on each other and they have different ideas on how best to survive!

Lol I was waiting for someone who is actually from Alaska to post HAHA
Please keep your cold. I’m actually fine with the cold, as long as I don’t have to drive in it. However, I do not like the heat… because then I have to worry about the buns.
Mimz… I thought of you REPEATEDLY over those couple days… So if your ears were ringing… Sorry, my bad 😉
On the local news, they kept comparing our temps to what was going on up there and I kept thinking how in the world does she do this?!!? Lol…
Ahem!!!! Us Aussie’s here – heatwave! Lol!
Anyhow, just last night I watched a doc on puppies/dogs – how they understand us and how we can understand them? Gee it was good! Here’s one for you dog owner’s out there…. apparently when your dog goes to step/walk – if they take off with the right foot, that’s a sign of more intelligence, and one of the signs (of a few) to indicate (regardless of breed) whether a dog would be considered to be an assistance dog. How cool hey?
bunnytowne, you sound so much happier again – good on you! Cheers.
That’s interesting, AndHenry! I never thought to pay attention to what foot a dog steps with first! I would also think that could indicate if they’re right/left-handed (pawed?)
Well I hate to say it (don’t shoot the messenger) but the polar express is forecast to drop down on you guys again this week. (I didn’t do it I swear!) Bundle up!
Hey after this year…we’re outta here! OH got a place back in California so we’ll be leaving sometime before next winter hits. Our health is not great and the kids need to be closer to relatives.
Congratulations, mimzy.
I watched a doccumentary on dogs not too long ago too, and they did this interesting experiment on just how much domestication has made a difference. They raised some wolves with close human contact, and in many ways the wolves behaved like dogs (they’d kinda hop up on them, panting, tails wagging).
So, the experiment: they put a piece of meat or something on a string inside a cage. The way to get it was pretty easy–the dog/wolf would have to pull the string to get the treat. Both the dog an the wolf easily figured that out.
Then the next time, they shut the cage, so that it would be impossible to get the meat out without human intervention. The wolf pulled on the string, and pulled, and pulled, and circled the cage, and pawed at it, on and on and on until they finally ended the experiment.
The dog pulled on the string a little. When that failed, he sat down and looked at the human LOL!
Zombie Sue , And Henry I saw that program. A while back. Not the wolf one tho. I love wolves. It was really good. Right handed and left handed dogs etc. Very informative.
There was one on foxes. The people took foxes. The more submissive ones were bred and the more aggressive ones were bred. The submissive ones after a few generations let the people pet them and started getting floppy ears like dogs then some of them curled tails like dogs then yet some were getting different colors like dogs and big spots etc.
The aggressive ones stayed the same thru the generations. That was interesting.
I petted a full blooded timber wolf at a vets office before I loved it. He was so tall those long legs of his.
Yes I am feeling happy. Just a little worried about my insurance. Getting my address in to dissability and the insurance opened in Florida and closed in Louisiana. Dissability did that when I moved to Louisiana. Automatically. It will work out. Just the bipolar meds I worry about the most. It will work out.
I feel better tho. Mom is helping mail my clothes n stuff back. That helps a lot.
Cotton is doing good. He has enjoyed the outdoors the last couple of days. The dogs lay in front of their yard I can keep an eye on them. The young uns play outside so I doubt the dogs will leave them and come here. They seem to stay there with the young uns.
We are going to get cold weather again. Oh I dread this. I like cold weather but I realize Florida cold weather lol. I really hope y’all warm up.
Oh Mimz you are moving back to california. That will be great. I am sure Alaska is a great experience but you will be glad to be back to warmer climes. I will too. Glad to hear it Mimz.
Careful driving In that snow everyone.
So guess what? Idiot me! I lined the dogs up to see which foot they stepped off with (they are 9-14yo, does it matter now, lol)? Doh! Only 1 out of 3 stepped with the right foot/paw, Ha ha hah!
And yes Beka27, they said dogs were either left or right handed – so there you go???? (who would of thought?).
ZS, how cool – I loved your description of the show you watched, and guess what? All my dogs ‘must’ be clever (left handed, who cares, lol), cause that is exactly what my dogs do (though I just thought they were lazy – looking to us when they couldn’t do something, lol!).
It is very hot here (Australia) bunnytowne and as much as I try – I can’t imagine your cold (especially yours MimzMum), so take care and keep warm!!!
