Hello all
Brief background if you’re interested!… I have had my mini lop / lionhead cross (Little Bear) since he was just 12 weeks and is now nearly 14 months. He is just the sweetest, most adorable thing and is very much attached to me. He sleeps on my bed and wakes me up by licking my ears. I think he thinks I’m another rabbit, which is why I knew I really needed to get him a friend so he could explore all his rabbity stuff with another of his kind.
I took him to a rescue yesterday to meet some does a similar age to him. My girl I ended up taking home with the first one he saw and immediately he loved her and she loves him too. I can’t believe how stress free it’s been. I moved them both into my neutral spare room with lots of space to play and there has been no fights, just grooming and flopping around on the floor together, it’s total bliss I don’t know what I was so worried or why the internet prepared me for such a horror story..
Anyway! Like I said he is a lionhead / Mini Lop cross and he weighs 1.45kg (I just had him at the vets the other day).
She is clearly lionhead too because of her beautiful mane but she doesn’t have the fringing skirt (like he has tufts of around his back quarters) and she is clearly not all lionhead so I wondered if you had any suggestions as to what she may be? She all totally white except for a tiny grey smudge on her nose, and she has brown eyes.
She is considerably larger than him, I would say twice as heavy but haven’t weighed yet. The size of her droppings are more than double his. Further to this, do you think she is too big? As in does she need to go on a little diet? She is very greedy and loves eating.
If you do know her breed or type, what weight is generally a good weight that I should keep her at?
I have added a picture so you can see the comparison and she what she looks like.
Thanks for any suggestions you might have!
Hattie (plus Little Bear and “New Bear” as she doesn’t have a name yet!) xxx
