We have had Naboo since he was a baby and he has always been extremely affectionate and loving towards my boyfriend and I and is very loved in return. (occasionally a little naughty but to be expected from a bunny). We had him neutered almost two months ago (at 6months old) as he was starting to mark his scent a lot and was becoming quite obsessed with my legs ?, after a few weeks he was back to his old self though. He’s great with being picked up, he loves to cuddle and follows us around everywhere. This behavior hasn’t changed at all.. But!.. Recently he has occasionally begun to literally chase us down at full speed, lunging and pouncing at us and biting, hard! These attacks continue until one of us restrains him and calms him down, but sometimes he’ll just come straight back at us when we set him down again. The first time this happened we were so shocked! It seemed so out of his nature to be aggressive. That time it was in our bedroom upstairs, where he’s usually not allowed to go. My partner had gone up to bring him down stairs and had been petting him before he went to run under the bed. He blocked him from running under and Naboo proceeded to circle around his feet biting at his boots! I went up to see what the fuss was about and he immediately ran at me and began biting my legs!! I quickly scooped him up under my skirt and held him there until he was calm again. It has also happened one other time with my partner and the stairs, so we were thinking it could be territorial. But then it has also happened since while we are preparing his food! And again while im helping brush off his winter coat for summer (which he is usually fine with). All I know to do is to hold him down and tell him no! And squeal.
We have to go away for 6 days over Christmas and i was already hesitant about leaving him with someone, but now I feel even worse about it! This behavior is really not okay and I’m finding it so incredibly upsetting to have my sweet little man attacking us with such fury, it has us distrusting him and his intentions. Please help us.
Additionally; about 3 weeks ago I did change his pellets, unknowing about making a slow transition. He became a little fussy with greens he usually enjoys but was pooing and peeing as normal. Since then he has gone back to eating everything we give him and is still doing his business as usual.
