Yesterday my friend gave me Snowball as a random gift.
Snowball is a female bun and Charlie likes her! ^_^

Aww, how cute! Are you planning on bonding them then?

              Cute!
Baby bunnies wouldn’t be good, but as long as you get them neutered then baby bunnies won’t be a problem!

If they aren’t neutered, you need to make sure they are separated at all times. Bunnies can mate in seconds and can even mate through cages.

Weather or not they will be bonded, the female needs to be spayed to avoid reproductive cancer.

Sorry, I thought at least your boy was neutered since you have had him for awhile. No wonder he likes her! LOL

As the others have said, you need to keep them away from each other. As Hazel said, the girl needs to be spayed otherwise she has a high risk of cancer at a relatively young age. But if she needs to be spayed anyway, then you might as well neuter the boy too. Then they can be friends. =)

I’m going to spay Snowball and neuter Charlie soon. I’m planning to do it this week or as soon as possible.

Edit: I just called the vet and he said there is no one doing that stuff in my town…

I understand why you’re upset he said no, but it is much much better that you vet is up front about his lack of experience than that he hides it and tries to give your bunnies anesthesia when he hasn’t had the extra training in exotics.

There is a list of rabbit savvy vets on this site, and the HRS keeps a list too. You can also post your general location (not exact location this is a public site) and see if any of us are near by and have vets we like. If all else fails, try googling “exotics veterinarian (your zip code)” and see if anything in driving distance comes up.

Bunspace have a good list too… The nearest rescue might also know a vet in reasonable distance.

She is precious! If you dig further I’m sure you can find someone outside of town to do your rabbits. I had to travel about an hour to get my two fixed because everyone around here were quoting 250-450$ per bun. Upon further research I found someone charging 65$ for boys and 100$ for girls. So don’t give up yet! There are some out there.

I always find it weird when people gift animals as surprises. Especially if it’s someone outside the family because how do they know you want another bunny or able to provide for another bun. Really any animal gifting for that matter lol I remember my husband got stuck with a hedgehog once for a couple years. He didn’t even get to enjoy her because she was so mean but he didn’t want to give her away because he felt compelled to keeping her so he wouldn’t upset his friend and he was now responsible for that life.

Please search farther than your home town to find a rabbit Vet who knows how to spay a female. Rabbits are very fragile while in surgery so you must have a Vet that understands a rabbits entire system. “Snowball” appears to be younger than a year old but she can reproduce right now. Make sure to follow the others advice on here & keep those bunnies apart until you get both of them fixed. If you get them both fixed, they will have each other to play with but if you allow them together now, they will have babies & your parents are going to be very mad at you. Use common sense. Talk to your parents so they can help you find a rabbit Vet. Tell your mom how important it is that both be spayed & neutered to prevent unwanted rabbit pregnancy.
