So my rabbit Daisy has had a panic attack! Her and her sister were free ranging when suddenly Daisy froze in the corner and her eyes got so wide you could see almost all of the whites beyond her gray eyes. Then she started running in crazy circles. This isn’t the first time she’s had them, but this is the first time I noticed since before I was always so busy with her 5 other siblings and thought she was just playing around. (which was really bad on my part) The other problem is that when she has a panic attack, her sister Socks gets scared too and she just freezes, her ears pointed straight up. Today was her worst one though. Normally, she cools down on her own in a minute or less, but today I had to grab her and take her outside so she would calm down. She wouldn’t calm down unless I put a rag on her eyes, too. Should I do that or no? I am really scared. After she cooled down though, I brought her back in and free ranging time was over for both of them. Then she just hopped right over to the bowl and started eating pellets. Could the reason for her panic attacks be not having her mother for most of her life so far? (Her mother abandoned them at three weeks, shortly before her minor freak-outs began) Or could it be the short run in she had with a hawk? (long story) After that I found her wedged between two fences, wet, and cold.
I also have another question about Daisy. Daisy and Socks are now 2 1/2 months old, and Daisy will just walk into the corner of her cage and flop down, then start twisting and rubbing herself on the bedding. Is that normal? Is it something I should be concerned about? She also licks EVERYTHING. My hands, her toys, the floor, the file cabinet, crates, boxes, the bars of her cage. Before she was weaned she used to lick and I thought it was just a phase because she wanted milk, but she still licks. Should I be concerned?
THANK YOU!
