Plain, untreated spruce is ok for bunnies to eat. Decorations are hazardous though, tinsel and stuff can cause blockage if ingested. Yew and holly and poinsettia are poisonous plants and must be kept out of reach (Not that they are Christmas trees, but they are Christmasish plants.)

Can you stand it on something that is high enough to elevate it well above bunny height ? Mine usually goes on top of a large rectangular blanket box over which I drape a large red circular table cloth.

We’ve had to resort to putting a small tree on top of a table, and it can’t be plugged in if bunnies are in the area. In the past when we had a full size tree, one of our rabbits bit the wire lights on the tree. He did this twice, so that was 2 strings of lights that went in the garbage, thankfully he wasn’t hurt. I don’t know if I ever had any bunnies to chew on the branches/needles, but you sure wouldn’t want them ingesting those, which were probably sprayed with insectides at some point, plus they have sticky resin. I also worry about ornaments falling off which sometimes happens when branches droop. If they are glass and happen to break, there are dangerous shards, and then there is the ornament hook. I don’t think that a rabbit would try to eat one, but that would sure be horrible.

So now, my rabbits can’t reach any part of the tree and if an orament falls, it and the hook land on the table top instead of the floor.

Also worth mentioning that most tincil, especially the long strands (often called icicles for reasons I never could understand) are actually foil and will cause severe damage to Any Animal if ingested. The foil edges are sharp and can cut internally or while being passed.I strongly suggest giving it a miss if you have Any animals in the house.
