I picked up flower today from her surgery and have her in a smaller.. (recovery) cage. i picked her up at 4 pm, now it is 9:49 pm, and she doesnt appear to have touched her food. i even topped her pellets with a couple pieces of romaine lettuce. Is there any good well known treats that I can give her just so she has something in her tummy.. I am worried since she is not eating, :/

Banana! lol…. but I’m sure that isn’t something you have laying around? I wouldn’t be too concerned that she hasn’t eaten tonight, but if she hasn’t by the morning, then you may wanna be concerned. But I’m sure other’s will have great advice and suggestions for you also (hopefully something you do have on hand with it being so late where you live). All the best wishes for Flower’s recovery.

How is she today? I agree that it’s pretty normal to not eat the first day, but I would call the vet if she’s not eating this morning. Critical Care would be better to fill her tummy with if she’s not comfortable eating yet.

You cant try herbs. Mint, basil, coriander or parsley. The strong smells might encourage her to nibble.
