All right, so I know this is impossible to do. I just want some advice on some things I can do to get them at least more friendly with each other.
See, we got Nibbler first, so he was used to being the “king” of the house. He has his own room and free reign in the room, along with lots of toys and food when it’s food time.
We had no intention of getting another rabbit until we could get Nibbler neutered, but a woman was struggling to give away her two baby bunnies together because they were together since birth. She was either going to give them away together or let them into the wild together, which didn’t sound like a good idea because they’ve been house bunnies since birth and are almost six months old now. So, I got two baby bunnies who ended up being un-neutered males as well.
Initially, the two baby bunnies were in the same cage and they cuddled each other and were perfectly fine. Once we brought them home, we made the mistake of introducing the bunnies on Nibbler’s turf, and Nibbler didn’t like that. He struggled with a dominance problem, and would try to mount both of the bunnies. After meeting Nibbler, the baby bunnies started fighting with each other and now we can’t even keep them in the same cage together.
I am absolutely positive that I am going to get all three of them neutered, but money is tight right now and I’m just looking for some tips or suggestions on anything to do to get them used to each other. They stomp their feet a lot when I let one of them into the room (by themselves) because they smell/see the other bunns. I don’t let them together anymore, so there’s no fighting, and I also put their cages next to each other so they can sniff each other and get used to the scents. We also try to take each of the bunnies into our room one at a time to bond with them and get them used to us and away from each other for a little bit.
So I’m just wondering if there’s anything more I can do? I was going to give the two baby bunnies away to two of my friends, but found that I simply can’t because I’ve grown attached in the month that I’ve had them.
I’m just looking for a small break in the time before I can get them neutered!
