Hi all, sorry for any inconvenience, we’re new to forums.
Back story:- We have two (supposedly) mini lop sisters, Tia and Maria (I say supposedly coz they huge! they’re more like french lops) They are almost 2 years old and have both been spayed for over a year. We adopted them almost 3 months ago when they’re previous owners could no longer provide time for them. They settled in fine and when we’re home they get to go in and out of they’re cage as they please (it’s on the floor with the door open) We’ve accepted that they don’t like being held and don’t force them to do anything they don’t want to do (unless it’s for their own good like trying to eat the rug which we’ve now taken up) They were already litter trained and have learned other things while they’ve been with us (they catch on quick
) Tia has always seemed more dominant and skittish while Maria is more relaxed and submissive
Problem:- Last night they were hopping around the room when Tia started to try and bite Maria. She has done this before but we put our hand between them and things calm down or they sort it out themselves but this time Tia would not stop. She even drew blood on us tonight trying to get her to stop. When she finally stopped, every time Tia moved or even looked at her Maria was REALLY scared, thumped and ran away. We separated them for a few hours hoping they would calm down. When I put them back together to see how things were Tia didn’t try to bite but Maria was SO scared, she just kept thumping and running around the cage even though the door was open and she could get out. She wouldn’t even take a treat from us and she LOVES her bunny treats. I am PRAYING this is just a little argument between sisters. Anyone have any suggestions as to what’s going on between them or what to do?
