  Hi everyone.
  
  We recently (2 months ago) moved into a new house with our two male bonded mini lops . Up until about a week ago everything was great, but now one of them , dusky, has changed. He loves to run up stairs and sit on the landing, but he always came back down again after a while. However, about a week ago he stopped coming back down and now acts scared of the stairs. So now he tends to just sit up there by himself and we have to ” rescue” him, which means picking him up. Usually he hates this but recently he doesn’t seem to mind, and isn’t even thumping at us or foot flicking like he usually would.
  
  We have no idea what is going on. He still seems bonded to our other rabbit, victor, and is fine after we bring him down. Main problem is this is happening twice a day and we don’t really want to keep picking him up all the time, and we’re worried victor may get upset at him leaving him all the time.
  
  Any ideas/advice greatly appreciated!!

  Have any new smells or objects been introduced? Merida used to love running down the hallway (and trying to get into my bedroom), but now she won’t pass my boyfriend’s bedroom (at the beginning of the hallway)- I assume because he started a temp job in a deli and the smell of meat on his clothes must freak her out.

  You could try blocking off the stairs (even temporarily), since you said Dusky was acting afraid of going down them, and especially if Dusky’s new behavior starts to bother or affect Victor.

  We thought if he had stumbled he would stop going up there, though maybe not! Yeah think we’ll simply have to block it off

  Are the stairs carpeted? If they’re wood, maybe he suddenly got spooked by the slippery floors.
  
  I would just block it off for a while.

  No they’re carpeted. I think we’ll just have to get some more NIC grids to block it off cos now he runs away from us whenever we go upstairs and I don’t want him to associate us with being picked up.
