Is wood from pear trees safe for buns to chew?

  Hi everyone. We have a pear tree on our property that desperately needs a trim and I was wondering if I could use some of the cuttings for Penelope to chew. Is wood from a pear tree safe for bunnies to chew and if so should I dry it out first? I see that others have posted that apple wood is safe dried or not. Is there a link that anyone is aware of that contains a complete list of bunny safe woods, foods etc.? I have only been able to find bits and pieces of information, which I am compiling into a binder at this point. (Better safe than sorry).

  The only tree branches that I have heard are safe for bunnies to chew on are apple, willow and aspen.
  
  Some other fruit tree branches, such as peach and apricot are toxic when fresh, but apparently okay when they’ve been dried several months. I’ve never heard anything about pears, but I would be afraid to use them, unless you can find some other info about them.

  Safe trees/bushes: alder, rowan, aspen, willow, spruce, ash, birch, maple, juniper, poplar, apple, pear, gooseberry, redcurrant, blackcurrant, hazel, rose, and hawthorn.

  Good to know for the future that it’s safe!
  
  Anytime I have any doubt on something for the buns and struggle finding a good online source saying it’s okay I just don’t do it. When in doubt, don’t. Lol

  Thanks so much! This is an extensive list and exactly what I was looking for. NBO I totally agree with you. I feel so limited right now as to what I can make, buy or offer Penelope to play with/chew because I am unsure about so many things and refuse to chance it. I was hoping that the pear tree would be safe since we are the only ones who have access to it and know that it hasn’t been treated with pesticides or anything. She doesn’t seem to like apple wood at the moment, so I wanted to try some other woods. I am checking out the BB store for options today. I will research drying the pear wood and see if she likes it once it’s ready and report back in a new post
