Hey there, hopefully someone more knowledgeable can help me out here. Background info: My girlfriend and I have had a bonded pair for some time (Wesley & Bluebell) We brought home 2 more, Dutchess and Bartleby and have begun bonding them. Bonding them has gotten a little bit rough, as there has been some nipping going on, so we’re not exactly sure when he sustained the injury but this is under Wesley’s ear, near his neck:

The fur appears wet and matted but that’s not discharge, we applied triple antibiotic ointment. Any advice about caring for it would be greatly appreciated. Or is a vet trip needed here? To us it appears to be a nip and not a skin condition…

If it isn’t it soon will be or has been and burst… I’d say a vet visit is the best option…Get some antibiotics and see what the vet says in regard to correct care..
If you don’t go to the vet you are going to stress about it and if it gets worse you’ll be kicking yourself for waiting.
