BUDDIE is a house rabbit, had full run of the place, never is out of food, has his own floor fan he lays in front of all the time. He circles me, we play chase, he grooms me every morning to wake me up, not for food just for play and attention. He binkies, jumps on everything he can climb on.
The first time I took him out to a planted island at a shopping mall, he took forever to step out of his carrier. When he did, he hopped around smelling everything. Nibbling leaves. He always stopped when I walked up to him to put him back in the carrier, sometimes he’d go back in himself when he was done exploring. Recently he doesn’t want me to get him or even get near him when he’s outside, I have to chase him, or get other people to help me catch him, but once we’re in the truck heading home, I let him run around in the truck you the way back. I take him home, and he approaches me and wants to be pet and goes back into normal cute mode.
My question is…. Do rabbits really prefer to be free, or is it just so new, and fun outside but wants to come back home? He is spoiled rotten at home, and I know he loves me tons, I just feel sometimes he wants to be free. I don’t take him outside anymore. He would never have outside what he has in my appartment, and I don’t know if he realizes that.
