  I seem to read and hear conflicting info about leafy greens for bunnies. I have seen sites say 2 cups minimum per rabbit per day (along with pellets and hay) and also have heard people bucket greens in with treats. So, if your rabbit can handle greens, why not provide them? It seems as if greens would be more nutritional than pellets, if given the choice.

  I honestly don’t measure my buns salads. They get a whole lot more than 2 cups each a day though I’m sure

  2 cups is a minimum, that doesn’t mean you can’t give a lot more. I give a lot more. The recommendation is just a guideline in my opinion.
  
  The exception being when you’re introducing greens to a young bun and if you let your bunny out to graze in the spring (or bring in fresh grass and leaves) after a long winter with very little greens.
  
  My bunnies eat crazy amounts of leaves every day. But that’s because I’ve easy access until winter comes and all greens must be store-bought.

  See, that’s what I always felt too – lots of greens are great and what nature intended. Noggin is used to having lots of greens. But, the vet we went to the other day for Jack made it sound like greens should be occasional treats. Maybe I just misunderstood because he was kind of just giving me that “proper nutrition” rundown since we are new to this vet.
