        Hello, binkybuns
I got my cute holland lop, Donnie, about 2 weeks ago. He’s 3 months now.
I’ve been feeding him timothy hay and timothy pellets ever since I got him. Then 1 tbsp of veggies for dinner.
But now I heard that bunnies under 7 months should be consuming alfalfa hay + alfalfa pellets, so I immediately bought alfalfa hay (couldn’t find alfalfa pellets!).
Now I’m a little confused what to do about his diet because I keep reading mixed things online about alfalfa and timothy hay for bunnies Donnie’s age.

Overall, I’m wondering what I should do with his diet since he’s only 3 months..
        1. Should I feed him a mixture of alfalfa hay + timothy hay + timothy pellets?
        2. Should I keep feeding him timothy hay + timothy pellets (his diet now)?
        3. Should I ONLY feed him alfalfa hay + alfalfa pellets?

I’m curious on what did you feed your bun when they were 3 months or what you recommend?

Hope you have the time to read and respond! I’m a new time bunny mom, so I get a concerned quite easily! Thanks.

Here’s a pic of Donnie sleeping, hehe. Follow my instagram @nastooz! I post daily pics of my baby

I would continue with the timothy pellets and timothy hay. You can give him a handleful of alfalfa hay daily too.

          Continue introducing veggies as well.

I agree with Sarita. My baby rabbits only got alfalfa hay/pellets until they were about 3-4 months. They were switched to timothy after that. I think what you’re currently doing sounds great!

Alfalfa hay/pellets isn’t absolutely necessary, but I do agree with continuing what you’re doing and adding in a little handful of alfalfa hay each day if you have it.
