I really hope I’m just being paranoid again, but I was checking on Nyx before I went to get in the shower, and I noticed that there are a couple of spots of weird, mucus-like…stuff…in her pen. The first one I noticed was just the mucus-y stuff itself. It’s thick and kind of translucent, a spot not much bigger than a dime maybe, and slightly yellowish. I thought maybe it was just new pee that hadn’t soaked into the material yet, but it’s been about fifteen minutes and it’s still just sitting there, all yucky and disconcerting. I saw another spot a few minutes ago, and there was a poo in it, but I don’t know if the mucus and the poo came together or if the mucus just landed on an existing bit of poo.
I don’t see any other spots, and she’s not really behaving much differently than she has been all day. She’s been nomming on hay every now and again, I saw her drinking water several times, she had some dandelion and mint leaf salad several hours ago. Since she just got fixed on Wednesday, I gave her a 0.3mL dose of children’s ibuprofen about six hours ago, but I’ve done that twice before now and didn’t see any mucus-y stuff afterward.
I’ve been sitting her watching her as I type this, for about five minutes now, and she’s just grooming herself. She doesn’t seem to be uncomfortable or anything.
I don’t know what’s wrong or what to do! I’m including a picture of the spot as an attachment, as yuck as it is, just in case I’m not describing it well. It’s pretty yuck. I’m sorry!

Another spot. Mehhhhh!

I’m still freaking out a little. I think it might just be pee, and it has something to do with the new material on the floor of her pen as to why it’s not soaking in, but now she hasn’t been pooping much since about eight last night. She’s totally ignoring her hay and the only thing she’ll eat are greens. I haven’t seen her drink again. I’ve seen two cecotrophes, and I NEVER see her cecotrophs, so I guess she’s ignoring those too?
She did eat less than half of a boiled peanut earlier, right before I noticed the weird might-be-pee and lack of poo, but I got it away from her almost as soon as she had it. Could the saltiness have made her tummy feel weird?
I don’t want to handle her any more than I have to right now, because her 7pm and 7am meds were a disaster. I couldn’t get her to hold still for the syringe to save my life, and I can’t hold her like I usually do to give her syringe stuff because she has a giant painful incision that’s making things difficult.
I know I’m probably being a paranoid mama, but I’ve got to work ALL DAY today, and I won’t be able to watch her like a hawk like I have been all night…
