I have switched from Oxbow Young rabbit food to Oxbow Adult rabbit food. He seems to be eating it well, just like the young rabbit version. He is not picky with food at all. I fed him Kaytee Alfalfa hay for a few months along with Oxbow young rabbit (both unlimited since he was a baby and skinny), then switched to Timothy hay (while still on the young rabbit food). So he is now eating Oxbow Adult Rabbit food and Kaytee Timothy hay (has been on this hay for about 2 months now), the latter being unlimited. I have also introduced him to a variety of things like:
Kale
Raspberry leaves
Strawberry leaves
Stawberries
Banana (gave only once as a treat)
Carrots (as treat, 2/3 times)
Dandelion leaves
Broccoli
Swiss chard
Blueberries
He seems to like everything except the broccoli and swiss chard, so I don’t offer it anymore. Is this what he should be eating? I get mixed opinions on when a rabbit is considered adult. Some say they aren’t adult if under 1 year old, a lot of people say they are adults when they turn 6-7 months and can be started on greens and be introduced to adult food at 4/5 months. I chose to give him adult food at 6 months. He will be going to the vet soon for a check up and neutering (saving up. They’re kinda expensive where I am), so until then I need to know whether I’m giving him the best possible care. I love this guy a lot and he is very attached to me too, and he was pretty much a rescue from there..he was the one who chose us though. So I wanna make sure he is getting the best!
