I am happy to announce that Barney and Belle are fully bonded, as of 12 days ago! I didn't want to upload the thread until I could put all of the cute pictures in it So Belle was spayed a couple of Fridays ago, she recovered well and 3 days after her spay was bouncing around being naughty again … but both her and Barmey were noticeably depressed at being kept apart.

So I took the decision to put them both on my bed where I could see how he reacted to her smelling differently, and watched. He sniffed her, they circled eachother briefly and he then began licking her head and snuzzing her, even trying to lick the wound on her tummy. There was ONE circumstance of humping and Belle ran away from him, and he has not done it since.

Since they have been bonded Belle has started drinking again (she was not drinking at all after surgery and I was syringing her water) – they were together 2 hours before Barney took a drink and actually nudged her head as if encouraging her to take a drink. They eat together, sleep together, play together and are pretty much inseparable. 

It's beautiful to see It was a risk putting them together so soon after her surgery,I know that, but I just followed my heart and did what felt right and I'm so glad how it has worked out. So proud of my little fluffies.

They have now been together 100% of the time for 12 days and there have been NO fights, no scuffles at all and no humping other than that one instance. I am so lucky
