Woo! Christmas in just under 3 months! and we’re going into summer now here in Aus!

Wish I could have been at bunfest…Roberta and I will definitely have to get onto having one here! We don’t have enough decent bunny related items and events!

Sigh, here in Texas it still feels like summer. I miss having four seasons. Bunfest sounds like fun! Down here we have the Rodeo and Livestock Show every Feb. There’s a small rabbit section which I like to visit lol. I’m usually the only adult there without a child haha~

I’ve been pretty busy the past few weeks with all the bunny rescuing! Some of you already know that I rescued 5 rabbits from my local shelter. I am fostering 2, keeping one, and another person is fostering the other two. I never thought I would have 7 rabbits in my house but I DO AND I LOVE IT!!! haha

I took Olivia on a walk today in the stroller. She was really good and wasn’t scared.

LPT: I am also having trouble uploading pictures to the forum. Been trying for a while now but it says the same thing each time.

People actually take bunnies out on walks in strollers?! As in, a pushchair? Do they not mind it??

My boyfriend moved in yesterday (eeek!). It's only temporary fortunately while he looks for a job, as he's just moved over from N.Ireland. I say fortunately because I still live with my parents and whilst they get on with him I still find the whole arrangement a tad stressful. One positive though – he's a photographer and has spent the last hour in my room taking adorable pictures of the bunnies. I'll be posting them as soon as he's done

Alright my favorite month is here! I love the weather that October has to offer rarely have to run the AC and rarely the heater as well. great weather to spend outside. I just love fall weather, really lol

Except when I lived in Texas. It seemed to skip fall all together lol

I like October too, and I love the cold! Has anyone else been having the issue of not being able to upload photos? I have heaps of Barney and Belle all cuddled up like little lovebuns to upload, but I cant! I dont really wanna make a new thread on the awesome progress of their bonding without lovely pics :3

haha Yeah it’s called a pet stroller. Amazon.com has a ton of them! I had never taken any of my rabbits for walks like that before. I just got the stroller. I probably wouldn’t take any of my other rabbits because they are pretty skittish and loud noises scare them. Olivia is so young and not afraid of anything so I figured she would be a good stroller rabbti! =P She enjoyed it. Wasn’t scare at all.

I love October as well. Best weather in this month. I also love Halloween so that’s always a plus of this month. Too bad I am not doing anything this year, though.

I’d love a stroller for my tribe… Only problem I can foresee is Pepper would want to drive..and Piglet would be giving directions from the front…
and yes we need a bunfest… Maybe we could rally the rescue groups into a Petfest and go from there… Trying to remember if we have a Pet Expo..

No Bunfest here, but I think it would be cool. I don’t know if my buns would like a stroller. LOL

Today was interesting. I found a dead shrew on the trail, something you definitely don’t see every day. In other news, a certain someone at work is going to the vet tomorrow. Boy am I glad I’m not the one having to do that! o_O

Oh dear now I want a stroller. It’s in the future. I envision myself walking two dogs and two rabbits at once. Yes.

Just out of curiosity. Has anyone ever read House of Leaves? Is it worth the effort of reading this book? Like it’s very interesting and I’m curious on what happens but it’s also very hard to figure out how to read it. Some paragraphs I have to run to the bathroom to read the words in the mirror only realize it wasn’t necessary at all to read that paragraph. It was just a list of random stuff that the house didn’t have *sigh* maybe I should get a small hand held mirror for reading this book idk! Gah I’m losing my mind In this freaking book! But it’s still fun reading… I like the story but… Idk about all this hard work just to read a book. I don’t know if I’m making any sense right now

I love the idea of the pet stroller. I might have to get one for Ox, after all, he did enjoy it when I took him to Petco after his vet visit.

NBO123 – I have read House of Leaves! It’s pretty obscure so it’s always fun to find someone else who has read it. I read the first half and then gave up about eight years ago and then read the whole thing about four years ago. It did give me a couple of nightmares! It’s never obviously scary but it really crept up on me. I still cannot for the life of me work out if it’s absolutely brilliant or just trying too hard and kitschy. It is a really arduous read and it takes a long long time but I hope you perservere! I’d love to know what you think of it! Do you have the coloured version?

Roberta and bunnygirl – I am absolutely thirding the idea of a bunfest in Oz. Sometimes I feel like I spend half my life trying to track down things for Rufus that everyone else seems to be able to get so easily!

I can’t imagine Rufus in a stroller but I carry Rufus to the vet in his carrier (it’s only 5 minutes down the road) and I’m always surprised by how well he does! He likes it much better than a car ride and he likes to sit up the front and look out at everything going by.

Hi Rufus, We can get generic pet strollers here… Several of the big suppliers with online shopping have them, plus Ebay…. They are really popular for 100% indoor kittehs and small lap dogs so they have not been a problem to find.. Oz is still getting it’s head around the concept of rabbits as companion animals as opposed to livestock… If we keep pushing we can make it happen…

Yeah I think Olivia does really well in the stroller….I don’t think any of my other buns would like it, though. Maybe Marley and Freddy would but I am afraid to test it out on them in case the get too stressed.

Yeah I agree and I do have the colored version! I bought this book back in 2010 and gave up as well but I decided to give it a go again. As soon as I think I have figured it out I turn the page I’m just like….okay what is going through this guys head lol but it’s interesting!

Funny you mentioned you having nightmares lol last night I actually dreamt of me trying to figure the house out! I’m just passing the part where Navidson goes on the rescue mission for Holloways team

So I’m starting to worry about Brevins history. I think he MAY have been apart of some kind of mill he is starting to become a very expensive dog! Let me just say first that he has a retained testicle. Which means a more expensive neuter. Really, no biggy. And he also has an umbilical hernia. Which means he has to get that fixed and we are going to that with the neuter.
And I’m not sure if this is true as I’m in the process of finding a new vet because these ones are just not go,do at all and I don’t trust them. But he snores BADLY and I lay awake at night because I’m afraid he will stop breathing. I can hear his loud obnoxious breathing stop every few seconds. Like so,etching is catching and it keeps me awake at night. The vet said something about an extended palate or so,etching like that but they didn’t even try to look and see which is frustrating. I’m afraid he has sleep apnea or something. Because I have heard people with sleep apnea sleep and he sounds EXACTLY like them. He is the loudest snores like ever and it’s getting worse everyday

What kind of dog is Brevin? If you got him from a pet store or breeder I would talk to them about what is going on. Even if you got him from a rescue they might not know his history but you can always ask them too if you got him from a rescue. Maybe someone will have answers for you? I know it’s hard with dogs sometimes. I just had to switch my dogs food AGAIN and now I am feeding her a freeze dried food that is very expensive. Hoping to keep her healthy and limit the vet visits. She was a stray a few years ago and I took her in.

Brevin is a mutt and I got him from a lady who purchased him from someone else but her husband didn’t like him.
I have don’t some research and I’m almost positive what he has is an elongated soft palate. The symptoms are just exactly what he is showing. It all makes sense now. Like a few weeks ago he was running around playing in the yard and he started acting like so,etching was stuck in his throat and choking and that’s a symptom too that can be brought on by exercising. He also vomits a lot and of course the extremely loud snoring he does. I’m going to record it tonight. Which now makes me more pissed off that the vet was completely aware of all of this and she didn’t even bother even opening his mouth and looking to see she was just like “no it’s not normal but some dogs are prone to it…” She didn’t elaborate any further or anything and this can be potentially dangerous to the unaware owner. Needless to say, I’m looking for a new vet. The lack of communication is a no go with me.

NBO – Aww, poor little guy. =( You know, stuff like that is really common in pet store dogs. So if the lady you got him from bought him at a pet store, it would explain a lot. All those puppies come from puppy mills and those people don’t care about anything except that the puppies are “cute” and can fetch a lot of money. They will have birth defects and other hereditary issues. It’s just awful. It just reminds me of a girl I used to work with. She purchased a puppy at a store on impulse. She had the puppy for 3 days and it died because of a heart defect. The pet store owner accused her of starving to puppy to death when she tried to get her money back on the guarantee.

Yeah I do t think she would spend such money on a pet store as they are quite pricey around here but I have a feeling she got him from a backyard breeder or something. So I woke up this morning to eggs all over my aquarium. I’m confused, because I got rid of one of my angels to rid the problem and I kept the boy so I KNOW it was from him. And all the other fish I have are live bearers or singletons so they don’t have a partner to spawn with. And then I looked at the octocats but they are next to impossible to breed so I was like eh, maybe not. That only leaves one last possible option, my two Cory cats that I have just happen to be a boy and girl! I must be doing something right! I swear I cannot rid this egg issue I’m having! It’s like a fish whorehouse in my tank I swear! Luckily I recently purchased 5 assassin snails who love eating eggs so they will surely keep things in check in my aquarium and I won’t have an abundance of baby fishes in my tank *sigh* hey, at least I know my fish are happy but my tank walls look tacky with patches of eggs all over them!

There is another possibility NBO… Having had exotic snails in my tank (Giant Mystery Snails). They will egg up a tank too. Mine did and they went for the walls and high toward the water line.

It’s Assassin snails and these eggs are quite large! :p

Just checked out Google images for their eggs… They seem to vary in size as to where they lay them..

Ok I just looked it up. They’re definitely the corydoras who laid the eggs. Idk why I didn’t think to look it up! Haha so Brevin has a vet appointment with his regular vet on Monday. I’m going to, once again, mention the terrible snoring. If they don’t even try to look in his throat then I will be leaving that vet for good. Keep you guys posted!!

MissGabbster – not sure, it looks fairly strong! He about some pliers or wire cutter type things?
Although you might be left so rough or sharp bits that would hurt bun. 😕

Tessie: I was worried about sharp edges as well. That's one of the reasons why I was thinking of going elsewhere to have it cut, that way they could also grind down any sharp edges.

But I doubt I'll go through with it. Especially since I flung Ox's toys into it. It looks so much neater than just storing his toys in a cardboard box, plus it hangs nicely on NIC grids. The search for a good hay feeder will have to continue!

NBO: good luck with Brevin! I hope the vet is more helpful this time.

I’m getting a bit antsy. I have been trying to recruit volunteers for this event at my work. A group that traditionally volunteers for us will not be doing it this year. So I have been frantically looking these last couple of weeks. I was told by this one group that they would let me know by today if they could participate. I haven’t heard back yet. I’m hoping that if I talk about it, something will compel them to email me back. LOL

Well this doesn’t seem to be working.

*sigh* No word yet. Wow, this is so stressful. I feel like I need to prove myself, yet not a lot of leads are panning out.

So just got back from the vet with Brevin. I told her about his breathing and she said that sense his body is still developing and growing he may grow out of it. But for now, just keep an eye on it.

I asked her for breed guesses since he’s a little older and she came up with the oddest breeds like ever lol she came up with maybe boxer, shepherd, Rottweiler with a small breed like long haired dachshund. I really don’t see any boxer or Rottweiler :p so the list to date on breed guesses are corgi, dachshund, cocker spaniel, beagle, shih tzu, Rottweiler, boxer, shepherd, cavalier… Or any combination of the dogs… As you can see, he is truly a mystery pup! Lol!!

NBO – It may be something that he eventually outgrows. Perhaps your vet has witnessed this before? You will have to post most recent pics so we can see. When I first saw pics of him, I was thinking Shih Tzu mix.

Leopold bit me last night. Twice. It was my husband’s fault. Apparently he heard a scuffle. He checked on the rabbits and found Leopold aggressively humping Wooly. Since Leopold is deaf, he couldn’t yell at him. So he sneaked up and grabbed him. Next thing I know, my husband was carrying him out into the living room. I’m like, what are you doing? He plops Leopold down in my lap. Here I am with a perplexed look on my face and Leopold decides to take his frustrations out on me. First he bit my arm, then my thigh. Both were through clothing, but he bites HARD. I have two marks from him now. I have had a vulture bite me and it didn’t hurt as bad as Leopold’s bites. *sigh*

Full body shot. His shoulder height is shorter than Abbie’s height. He weighs 16 pounds and he is 4.5 months old. (2 more pounds than Abbie) and he is longer than Abbie is. So he’s shorter, longer, and weighs more than Abbie. Any guesses? 

Also, ignore length of hair. He is growing his coat still out. I think it’s going to get longer because he has long patches starting to come in on his jaw line…it looks realy weird lol and his toes and feet are starting to grow out long hair too…so who knows *shrugs* but body shape, what do you guys think? I personally think the vet lost her mind by mentioning boxer and rottweiler. Maybe shepherd mixed with something small? She did mention shepherd. And he does have that herding personality always nipping abbie’s ankles when she walks away from him.

I’m thinking long haired dachshund and/or a bit of beagle…and maybe some corgi. It’s hard to tell though! He’s also growing out nicely, even with the funny patchy hair.

Yeah I’ve heard all three of those breeds corgi, dachshund, and beagle lol and then at the vet yesterday she was naming really odd breeds that I couldn’t see. She said boxer, Rottweiler, shepherd. I’m just like….okay?? Haha!

The search for a good hay feeder will have to continue!

You could just take one of your NIC grids and bend it into a V shape. That’s what I’ve done and even though it’s not the most fancy hay rack, it works just fine.

This was when I was putting it in, just imagine it with hay in there. I might zip tie a piece of cardboard on each side to keep the hay from falling out, other than that it’s great. If you want to try this, just be careful not to bend the grid on the side with the “weld”, I didn’t pay attention and broke one that way.

NBO: Brevin is getting so big! What a cutie. Love his hairdo! 

Wow he has changed so much! Just looking at his face, I would say beagle is in there. I think MissGabbster is right, he most likely has a long bodied breed like a long haired dachshund in there. I guess you will have to wait to see how he grows and how his fur fills out.

I keep thinking in my head, well I can bond him with Bleu and they will be happy and cute…then I think well what if he wont bond with her and then I have to try and find room to house him in our tiny apartment..and the extra hay and greens it will cost us. Ugh I guess will just continue to look at his pretty face until the link no longer works stupid lack of funds and space in the house preventing me from getting another baby *sigh*

In other news, I have realized I am a crazy bunny lady officially now. Last night I was sitting with Kern and had a cup of water and he wanted a drink so I let him drink out of my cup, then without thinking drank after him My fiance was laughing at me cause I would always freak out if he tried to feed his dog a treat from the mouth.

I ran out of hay today. They were only out for a few hours until we could get more, but apparently that was long enough for them to be quite upset. Powder has pulled a huge pile of hay out, spread it around the floor in a circle and is now sleeping directly in the center of it as if to say “My hay. You aren’t taking it away from me again!”

I’m glad you like it, I’m not handy at all so I’m proud of “constructing” this! You mean offsetting two grids to make the gaps smaller? I was actually talking about the sides, where there’s nothing at all to keep the hay from falling out, the size of the grid gaps are just fine I think, they’re big and it’s easy for Oscar to pull hay out. Talking about this made me decide to just go ahead and fix it up, so this is the improved version. I cut two pieces of card board to size and attached them on the left and right:

So it’s been rainy here and Abbie, my dog, seriously just held it for 40 hours… No joke she hates wet grass THAT much but I guess she finally realized that the wet grass isn’t going away any time soon so she finally pooped! I took her out like every time it stopped raining and she walked like the wet grass was burning her feet her something lol

She hates wet grass so much that if you take her out too early before the morning dew has time to evaporate she will act like its hot lava lol I can’t believe she held it for so long!!

NBO – My dog will just poop on the patio and then run back in as fast as she can. She doesn’t like it when it’s rainy either.

So today was weird. I was inside the building working today and I glanced out the window. What do I see? A cat. And the cat was pawing at something. So I went outside to investigate and as I got closer the cat raised his head up with a snake (thrashing about) in his mouth. I yelled at the cat and he dropped the snake. The snake whipped into the bushes so fast! The cat took off too. Poor snake.

Lol now she is finally eating her daily ration. I guess she had no room to eat haha! What a character.

*sigh* well some of my fish have been bullies last night. I turned the light on this morning only to find one of the neons with a very damaged eye! Like it’s seriously almost completely out of its socket I feel terrible and another one looks pretty beat up too. They say neons can become aggressive if there aren’t enough in a group but I have 10… I feel as that is plenty and I also added loads of plants so they shouldn’t feel insecure. Anyhoo, I had to make a hospital tank for the little guys to heal without further injury and to add meds to prevent infection. So I have an awkwardly large bucket just hanging out on my living room floor because I have no place else to put it lol. I had to put serame wrap (I have air stones going into the water and small holes in the wrap for airflow ) on the top because Harley LOVE LOVES aquarium water for some reason lol hopefully they heal up fast so I can get rid of this awkward bucket in my living room!!

i think its a her,, and she recently gave birth (or is still pregnant) because the nipples are all swollen. the other 2 bunnies were caught this afternoon so they are all safe an inside now (it was crazy cold today,, only low 70s,, normal is low 90s)

What happened to the other babies Mike ?… I noticed Sam stated they had already reproduced…

they didnt find any babies when they caught the other 2 yesterday afternoon.

the one at my house finally pooped (and tons of it),,, she must have eaten some seeds while living in the backyard that were partially blocking her gut. they were hard and round and about 2/3 the size of her pills. 12 syringes of watery critical care last night + 4 this morning was enough to blast everything ou.

they said it took them 5 hours to catch the other two yesterday. considering this was my first bun rescue and it only took be half an hour to catch her, im feeling pretty good about it. I am Sam,, no way in hell am i going to use my real name on facebook 

Oh boy, I sure had the crap scared out of me. I was driving south on this one street. There is a street that runs east/west that comes to an end at the street I was on. It is kind of hard to explain, but there on two lanes on this other street. The right is funneled to go north on the street I was on and the left is funneled to go south on the street I was on. Well anyway, a car came from this other street and the lane they are supposed to go into was parallel to the lane I was in. I figured they were just going fast to make it to the light up ahead and they were just going to stay in their lane. They weren’t doing that though! They kept coming and they started getting into my lane right as I came up along side them. I had to honk my horn and then slam on my brakes. My purse went flying from the seat. They narrowly missed hitting me. I guess they weren’t paying attention and thought they could just cut across lanes without even looking. Ugh! =\

Sigh. Haven’t been on in awhile. I’ve been so sick all week! A first it just seemed to be a cold that started last Sunday and then today I think it’s finally turned into a sinus infection because my whole face hurts, the tops of my teeth hurt like heck, and I’m all sorts of congested, runny nose, mucous coming out of everywhere in my face, LOL.

Hope everyone has been having a great month so far! I swear between school and work, I am totally done for! I can’t wait for Christmas break from school so I can have a break!

Yeah, so someone definitely doesn’t like me. Wow. I was at work today. I was talking to the person who does the scheduling about my schedule. Then I was done, but she started talking about how procedures would be changing soon with the person who shares her office. They were sort of hashing things out, so I stood just outside the door and listened. I don’t really know how things go there during the winter, so I wanted to see what they were saying. Well the preschool teacher walked in and I guess wanted to talk to them. She joined into their discussion though, so I kept standing there. I guess I wanted to add something to their conversation, but there was no getting a word in. Then the preschool teacher just turned around and shut the office door in my face. I guess I was annoying her? So here I am walking out to my car and all I can think about is how I was told by my boss that “people” had said I sound condescending and stuff when I talk. Then I think about all the times the preschool teacher seems pleasant with other people, but will be very rude to me. She will often kick me out of rooms and talk to me like I’m, well, a preschooler. I don’t know, I just feel like she doesn’t like me. What should I do?

*sigh* She walked past me today to talk to someone I was working with. She laughed and joked with this other person. She didn’t even acknowledge me. I’m sure she was wondering why I was hanging around there too.

If this is repeated behavior and you have addressed it with her previously then what you have is a case of workplace harrassment. It is a form of bullying. Ideally address the matter with the woman and have a witness present who is aware of the situation and advise her that if the behavior continues you will need to lodge a formal complaint.

Really? You think it is harassment? I thought it was just a case of she doesn’t like me. It’s just weird all the time because I don’t feel comfortable talking to her. Like I said, she talks to me like I’m a 4 year old. I don’t think it was necessarily her that said I sounded condescending to visitors. I think I know who it was, actually. And this was them “complaining” to my boss about me. I don’t know if the preschool teacher pays enough attention to me to notice how I interact with visitors.

Hmm, I don’t know where this would fit in to that definition. She isn’t my boss and I don’t have to interact with her like I do my other co-workers. Anytime I enter her domain (the classroom), I have to obey her rules. My boss has said that too. But yes, she definitely behaves differently toward me than she does others. When I say she kicks me out of rooms, it is usually because I am trying to go in the classroom to take care of the animal that is in there. I always wait until class is over and everyone has left. Sometimes I have other things going on with my schedule too, so if I don’t get in there then somebody isn’t going to get fed. She has commanded me to leave several times though, saying she doesn’t want me in there when I thought it was “safe”. She doesn’t do that with other people. I have also been shut inside the kitchen area numerous times because I happen to be in there when she is taking all of the students to the bathrooms. She thinks me walking out would “distract” them. Her solution is just to shut me in there without a word and she will lean against the door. I have to wait until all of the kids are done using the bathroom before I can come out. Sometimes I’m on a time crunch and it can be frustrating when I have to stand in there for 5 minutes or so. I don’t know who to bring it up with though. My boss? Or would she just think I’m overreacting?

These are classic stand over tactics and if she is doing it to you she has done it to others in the past and has probably managed to get them to quit.
Go to your boss, explain what is going on and that you have asked advice in regard to her behavior and been advised (by an Occupational Health and Safety Co ordinator) that it is bullying/harrassment. Explain that at this stage you would like mediation to take place in order to find a resolution…

@LBJ: I would consider her behavior as a form of harassment. Especially if it makes you feel uncomfortable. As Roberta has suggested bring it up with your boss/superior in order to resolve this.

On a side note, I finally got my car back from the shop! Recently posted an Amazon listing trying to sell my iPhone 4. It’s crazy how many spam-like emails I get trying to get me to mail it for free (insert eye roll). Never had this problem with eBay.

Alright, I will find a way to tactfully bring it up. I will probably wait until after this event we have this weekend. Everyone is in a frenzy trying to get things done. I don’t want to burden her with this when she is so stressed.

LBJ, If this teacher see it as appropriate to interfer in another persons work and intimidate them by locking them in a kitchen and leaning against a door then your boss needs to be made aware of this… You will not be her only victim and frankly I find it unsettling knowing that this woman is in charge of small children. In a case like this it does not matter if she works in your department or even if she was a contractor or customer workplace harrassment and violence can come from a variety of sources. Not to mention that she is interferring with the care of the animals to satisfy her own little power trip. If something goes pearshaped you will end up the scape goat. Trust me, if this woman was employed by my company I would have her in the counselling room so fast her head would spin and it would come to a first and final warning to correct her behavior or seek alternate employment.

I meant I don’t want to burden my boss. I don’t think it will hurt to wait until next week. She is stretched so thin right now since my other boss is on leave.

Don’t leave it to long LBJ, I think you will find this woman is also the source of the complaint, at the very least she will have manipulated someone else into it. Make sure you document every thing. Between now and when you see your boss sit down and write out the events in chronological order as best you can so that you can present clear and concise examples of the behavior. If not exact dates then the frequency with which the incidents occur.

I believe some words are going to be had with the Aircon people who did some work recently.

So I made a big box that we got from a recent order and turned it into a castle for the bunnies! They LOVE it! There is a small cut out in the side of the box to enter and there is a series of tunnels through half the box. At the end of the tunnel it finally opens up to an opening in the corner when they can hang out and dig. We had packing paper that came with the box so I shredded and put the slivers where the open space was in the box. Sally had so much fun shredding and digging in the box. Also when they reach the opening there is a second floor in the box and then a hole in the roof so they can climb to the top of the box lol. It’s very cool and I’m quite proud of myself. They spent a good 2 or 3 hours just exploring it lol. The series of tunnels in half the box made it seem mich bigger to them than just one big open box haha

LBJ, I really feel for you with your co-worker! Make sure you tell us what your boss says, and good luck!
NBO that castle sounds amazing! I had several things for the house delivered recently so I did a similar thing with loads of boxes, it was more of a maze but I think Albus enjoyed it!

The point is LBJ that it should never have gotten to the point where you have to ‘sneak’ around to avoid harassment. You need to report this as soon as possible.

Exactly NBO… Her behavior is impacting negatively upon your ability to do your job… You can guarantee she is at your bosses door at every opportunity advising her when you have not done something whilst carefully omitting that she was the reason work was not done.

Actually, I don’t think she really cares about the animal in there. I tried asking her something about her once and her reply was that she doesn’t do animal care. I’m sure she could go all day and she wouldn’t even notice if the cage was dirty or whatever.

And I do have to discreetly slip in there to do what I need to do. Obviously I cannot go in there during class. When no students are there, she will often be on the phone have a private conversation with a parent or something.

LBJ, This site has the listing for the various state and region contacts for OHS. Of course it’s not active at the moment due to the shut down but hopefully some of the contacts are still monitoring their email.

Seriously, I would not wait too long…. Vipers like this one have a standard operating procedure, I have seen too many of them in action…

Oh… and she will notice if the cage is dirty, she may not care but she will notice a golden opportunity to drop you in it from a great height and run to your boss complaining you have left the animal cage dirty and that the animal has not been fed. As I said, she won’t mention the fact that she is the reason these things weren’t done.

Blast !!! The place I get my hay from is out again as there supplier has been hit by hay mites the second time this year…. I am covered in bites that I had attributed to mosquitoes but now I am positive its mite bites…
Think I have found a clean temporary supply but the buns never like the other stuff as much… I did order some Fescue Hay for them on line for a nice treat but that wont last long with 7 fat hungry bunnies.

I would like to just come in and say that Brevin just sneezed out a live, baby slug. Yep! First time for everything! When he sneezed the slug landed on my husband haha he thought it was a boogie until it started to move lol funniest moment ever Brevin is snorting slugs haha

omg I almost just choked on my lunch chuckling at that (even though slightly grossed out after I thought about it)… lol but Brevin is such a cutie! I can’t picture how his nose managed to suck the whole slug live!

Bam just bit me sth crazy. I tried putting him and Yohio togeather again, after a break of more than 2 months. I’m so glad the bite took in my hand instead of in Yohio’s body. A bite like that could’ve killed him. I’ve wrapped my hand in a towel with icecubes in it. It hurt so bad I was actually sick. So glad though that I didn’t shake or pull him off and hurt him. Both bunnies are fine and eating leaves now.

Well, I guess I know for sure now that they can never be togeather.

I didn’t let him lol he’s a puppy, he gets into things he shouldn’t without me knowing. My guess is he excitedly sniffed it up his nose from the grass while he was outside and it tickled him while moving causing him to sneeze it out lol but no, I wouldn’t just sit there and let him eat a slimy slug (Gross!!)

You should see his poop It’s always so colorful with bits of toys (we call it confetti poop) he’s always trying to eat. Rope, sticks, hay, and last night he ate a pumpkin rubber ball toy (Halloween themed) gotta love puppies! But really, I have to replace toys daily because he destroys them in minutes getting expensive haha

I was wearing gloves. There are no bitemarks, but the skin sort of cracked. It was like being pinched with a pair of pincers, and he wouldn’t let go. He must’ve hit a branch of the median nerve, because I still have no sensation in the left side of my left thumb. Hope I get it back. Thank goodness it was the left hand. Thank goodness again it was me and not the intended victim, Yohio.

I bet a bite like that would have been enough to sever the spine of another rabbit. Kind of amazing, really.

Man I must have some REALLY happy fish because now it’s my neons that have spawned! Considering they are extremely hard to breed most neons are wild caught. So every fish in my tank has laid eggs at least once now. First the angelfish, then the corydoras, and now my neons haha. I don’t think any will survive though. All the eggs are making quite a tasty snack for the other inhabitants lol but it’s very crazy watching.

Couldn’t you have like a small hatching tank for the eggs or it’s perhaps not worth the trouble? You must have some excellent conditions in your aquarium. I don’t know anything about fish =/ I remember my guppies spawned but guppies always do.

I can set up a breeding tank for the neons if I wanted and sell babies to local fish stores considering breeding neons is extremely hard but eh, that would involve me having to put the neons in a breeding tank and then when they spawn remove them immediately back into the community tank to prevent them eating the eggs and I feel like all that switching around tank to tank would be too stressful for them and I don’t want to stress them. I’ll just continue allowing them to happily procreate in the community tank and let them happily turn right around and eat their eggs as they lay them lol I can’t just remove the eggs from the community tank because they are about the size of a grain of sand.

I also have guppies but the females quit having babies haha which is odd because they litterly breed like rabbits. But hey, they’re 3+ years old (average life span 1-3 years) so I’m assuming they’ve just hit fish menopause :p

I feel sick. I just discovered that I owe the school money from 2 months ago. I had absolutely no clue. Apparently they readjusted my loan amount twice. I received notice of the change and then a couple days later received another notice. I assumed it was just a duplicate. My refund came after the first notice and when I checked my account the balance said zero. It wasn’t until later it showed I needed to give some of my refund back. I have all these late fees now and I don’t have the money to pay what they say I owe. =(

LBJ – This kind of thing sometimes happens with my husband’s school stuff because the VA pays stuff in a weird way occasionally. Have you tried talking to them yet? In my experience, if you have the money to pay what you owed before late fees they can usually be convinced to waive them. If you don’t have the money to pay the original costs you might be able to work out a pay some now pay the rest by a agreed upon date without late fees too. This doesn’t always work and sometimes they’re not helpful at all but it’s worth a try.

We did all the bunny maintenance today. Everyone but Monty has become a real pro when it comes to nail trims. We can just pick up their feet and clip. Monty is still a pile of trouble in that department but we got it done. I also started bonding all 5 today! I’m really optimistic about everything so far… But it’s only been one day. MD – Oh yes, I talked to them. They are completely unsympathetic about it. They don’t seem to understand that I was “fooled” when I received 2 notices of an adjustment right after another. Like I said, I thought it was a duplicate. Why change in twice in a matter of days? It didn’t make sense. When I checked my balance, it said zero (this was after the notices and the refund). So the adjustment must not have made it through my account until weeks later. Needless to say, the money is already gone. =\ I don’t have the money to pay it back, it is more than what would be in my paycheck. They said if I didn’t pay the entire amount, that late fees would continue to be added on. They don’t do payment plans. *sigh* I am just going to have to borrow the money from my parents. I owe them a ton of money too.

LBJ: I’m sorry they aren’t willing to work with you. Seems like if they want their money they would try to work something out.

I just made an appointment for Oscar’s neuter. Poor baby.

Some of you probably remember that Lily had lost a lot of weight because we switched her food. So then we switched her back to the old stuff and she started gaining the weight back. The last couple of days she has started to not want to eat her food right away instead of wolfing it down. We take that as a good sign, she’s been more playful lately as well. So we decided to try something today to see if she’s really back to her normal self.

She HATES for me to read out loud. Earlier I received this month’s Game Informer, so I ended up reading an article out loud. First she didn’t seem interested. After a couple of minutes she jumped up on my lap and tried to squish herself in between me and the magazine. When that didn’t stop me, she gave me a half-hearted bite on my shoulder. I kept reading. Next she wrapped her arms around me and applied the death bite to the back of my neck. I started getting a little scared, but kept on going. Big mistake. She sat back, looked at me for a second and launched herself at my face. I stopped after that. But she was too far gone. When this happens, you can see a switch flip in her head, her eyes get crazy and you know you’re in for it. She yowled and screamed, staring at me with that crazed look in her eyes. She bit me a few more times and I finally managed to block her with a pillow long enough for her to calm down.

I’m scratched up, but I’m happy she’s feeling like her old self again. Ouch.

I really hate my body. I’m only 23 and I have terrible joints! My shoulders hurt like hell anytime I move them they crackle. Both of them! I can’t wear fitting shirts because my range of motion is so bad, that I can’t take my own shirts off without help because my shoulders crackle and pop and hurt. It’s been cold here so they just seem to be 10X worse. Idk if weather actually affects this but it sure feels like it. My hips… They are bad too. I can’t sit Indian style because my hips won’t allow it. They are so inflexible it’s embarrassing. They feel like someone needs to grab my leg and just pull on them. It’s that kinda feeling. Everytime I get out of my car they pop loudly and it’s painful and it shoots across my whole pelvis everytime. It’s only when I’m in a low car because when I’m driving the SUV they don’t do it. And when I’m standing at work, I can’t just turn my torso to grab something because my hips stop me for some reason. It’s really painful. I have to keep my torso aligned with the bottom half of my body or it hurts. I think they are misaligned or something causing all of this. If only insurance covers chiropractic practices because I really think my hips have been misaligned for a couple years now and it’s really taking its toll. I’m gonna try and get a reference from my doc but if my insurance won’t cover it I’ll just have to live with it. You know how long it has been since I have been able to go horseback riding? Or even skiing, I can’t ski because my right leg points outward no mater what I do so one ski goes the wrong way. I can’t ice skate either *sigh* cold weather is like a cold reminder that I have bad genes! I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like when I’m 40 or even 30! It makes me fear aging lol my twin has terrible joints too so we can just vent together about our terrible genes :p

Oh yeah so Brevin has started humping air when he gets really excited like in the middle of playing with his toy or greeting me when I come home. He just sits there and humps air! lol he’s only 5 months old! I can’t believe he’s growing up so fast in one month he is losing his manbits so he can play like a normal puppy without embarrassing me on puppy play dates haha!

Yesterday sure was a weird day. All these strange things kept happening at my job. Has anyone had one of those days? It was literally one thing after another. Oh and mice! Mice everywhere!

Today was a weird day for me! More so embarrassing lol so I didn’t notice my fuel light was on and uh this girl freaks out when the light turns on and I stress that I will run out of gas. Yeah I was trying to text my husband to please please please get a friend to drop him off at my truck to go fill it up because I was too afraid to drive it to the nearest gas station .5 miles down the road lol well he said no and the closer my shift was coming to an end the more I started freaking out about me about to have to drive my truck! My chest even started hurting and it was hard to breathe (I was basically having a freaking panic attack at work!) and low and behold, my husband showed up to my work took my keys and filled my truck up for me how sweet is he?! It’s like he knew I would freak out even though I’ve never had a attack over this. I’ve always really stressed about it but never physically lol and I was embarrassed to because my coworkers were worried about me cuz I couldn’t breathe lol it was embarrassing and I don’t know how to go back tomorrow haha luckily soon I will be doing overnights (10pm-6am) so I won’t have to see them again til January :p

Wow, I guess I’m lucky because all of the embarrassing stuff happened to me when no one else was around. LOL

Glad your husband was so nice and came to fill your gas tank. 

I didn’t tell him about me freaking out though. He’d think I was crazy! So I thought it was sweet that I only had to ask him once and he came he said no at first but I’m sure glad he changed his mind! Yeah my coworkers were like “I’ll go fill it up” lol and I had myself together well…I think. I wasn’t hyperventilating or anything…but it was hard to breathe and my chest got tight. I was breathing like I was in labor haha deeeep breath. Sloooowww deep breaths. I’ll never let it get that low again!

Went to Petco today to pick up some supplies. It was a typical Saturday afternoon with dogs roaming about and children banging on the chinchilla and ferret cases. I was stuck waiting in a 10 person line at the only open register. Ugh. Then a woman with a shopping cart lined up behind me…with a rabbit sitting in a wicker basket! After chatting I learned her rabbit, Cookie, is a therapy animal and they had just finished work. It made the wait so much easier lol.

NBO and LBJ:
I just started seeing an holistic chiropractor. I usually don’t buy into all that “voodoo” LOL, but I came to the end of my rope. I have had arthritis, herniated discs in my back, and weekly migraines for years and I am only 34. Years of PT and several neurologists later and no one has found anything. So frustrating! I am also a teacher and I get about 18 sick days a year. That sounds like a lot but I use them all every year. seriously. Most teachers by this point in their career (10 years in) have built up a bank of sick days. Not me. I AM ALWAYS SICK! Anyway, this dr. got me diagnosed in 45 min and I finally found someone who gets me! He has me on an Antiparasitics and probiotics. His theory is that if my gut and immune system aren’t straight then none of the mechanics in my body are going to line up. Hence the reason why PT has never worked. I tended to “reset” myself after every visit. I feel great for a day and then BAM! back to being out of line and in pain. I only bring this up because my insurance covers all of this and I have found great relief! If it isn’t something you have tried yet, I would consider at least an office consultation and see what you think about going this route. He is very different than a regular chiropractor. He does adjustments but the holistic approach is something very new for me. I drive over an hour and a half every week to see him. He is worth every minute!

Kbana – I used to go to a chiropractor. I don’t have insurance that would pay for it though. The one I used to see wasn’t “quacky”, he sure was a talker though! Oh boy! LOL I did tell him where to go to get boots for his girlfriend though. He wanted to surprise her with them for Christmas. Currently, I am seeing a neurologist. He just likes to run tests.

I used to go to a chiropractor when I was in high school because my parents paid for it. I ran track and we had crazy workouts and it misaligned my hips. Anyhoo, while going weekly I felt great! But that was 5 years ago… And it’s just so bad now. I hate when the pop…Sometimes it feels like they get… Stuck? Idk how to explain it but yeah, I’ve got old lady hips :p

I have an appt mid December with my doc and I think I’m going to finallymention my shoulders and hips. I’ve never mentioned my joint pain to my actual doc I’m seeing now the past 3 years so she’s gonna think I’m crazy for not mentioning it all this time, waiting for them to get this ridiculous. I just feel like since I’m only 23, she won’t take it seriously lol

Anyhoo I saw the strangest thing today on my way home from work. I always count how many stray cats I see driving down the street my house is on and I was just counting 1 cat, 2,3,4,5 cats…1 chicken…wait, what?! There was a random white chicken walking around the neighborhood! In the middle of a city and none of my neighbors has a chicken house or even chickens as they aren’t allowed in our neighborhood. So yeah I counted 16 stray cats and 1 chicken lol that was just what I saw on the street since it was 10 o clock at night. Gosh so many stray cats… And what’s a chicken doing walking around at night

NBO – My neighbors have some chickens in a dog kennel behind their house. I keep waiting for them to be wandering around loose. LOL I saw a stray cat at work today, the same one I saw a couple weeks ago. Animal control has been out twice, they can never seem to find him.

The buns are moving! We’ve decided to move the buns from the kitchen into the spare bedroom. Mainly because Brevin is a little stinker and is constantly stealing their veggies from their enclosure, drinking from their water bowls, and eating their hay! He is partially trained to stay out of the spare bedroom so were hoping to put a stop to this. It will be a good week or so to clear everything out and bunny proof everything and they will have a nice big room to get away from their obnoxious puppy without worrying about Brevin stealing their tasty food lol

Although I’m nervous the move will affect their litterbox habits lol they are both 99.9% trained. I’d hate for it to change!

They might be okay if you keep the set-up exactly the same. At least at first anyway.

Oh ok good. Yeah it’ll stay exactly he same except he location they have NEVER been in that room so hopefully they won’t feel the need to make it theirs :p

Well you never know, they might think they need to mark it. LOL But I would think that keeping their setup exactly the same would definitely help. I wouldn’t clean their stuff too much when you make the move either. That way it will all still smell like them.

In the conversation about puppies (Brevin) and scents… I’m so excited I will be puppy-sitting my best friend’s pomeranian for 3 weeks! But I’m just worried about Simba’s reaction to him… even though it will also be a good test to see if we’d be able to get a dog in the future. Poor Simba’s going to lose some play space during this time though since I’ll need his exercise pen to make sure the puppy knows where to use the pee pee pads in my home. I’ll be sure to give Simba lots of nose rubs and treats for sharing (hoping he won’t throw a fit at it).

*sigh* I made the huge mistake of walking into the new Forever 21. I had been in one before, but this is a new one that opened up really close to me. OMG, that store is so ridiculously overwhelming. It seems like there is no rhyme or reason to the way they arrange things in the store. It is really difficult to just wander around and look. It is like sensory overload. Does anyone else have that problem?

Oh wait.. it’s November isn’t it? o_O

Yes, I totally agree! Even though I am in my thirties it is my fav store. (eh, probably shouldn’t admit that LOL) I created a system for shopping it but you need to have time and patience. They also place duplicate items throughout the store so it makes it even harder. ha! I start at the front on one of the sides and go up all the way to the back, then I go back down a row over all the way to the front. Then I go back to the back another row over and so on and so forth until I’ve made it through the store. By the time I get to the dressing room I have about 10 armfuls of clothing. LOL! Can’t beat the prices though!
