I took my bun to his first vet visit yesterday just for a routine check up, because his other owner had never taken him before and i was a little concerned about some things going on with him. He had a small cataract developing over both of his eyes, they were a little leaky, and he was constantly scratching his ears,etc. I had called the previous owner about it and they said that it had been doing that for about a year and they were just wiping it off of his eyes!!   Well, I told the vet about this and some of his other behaviors, and long story short they were pretty positive he has E-cuniculi. I couldn’t afford the test to make sure, but she said if i decided to wait until his next visit when i could afford the test, it could be too late. She said that it was a very slim chance he would have a bad reaction to the medication, so I went ahead and decided to go with treatment. They gave me some panacur to administer for the next month and to come back at the end to recheck his eyes and ears. I’m kind of upset at the other owner for not taking him to the vet, especially if the damage done to his eyesight was preventable. I just really hope that this is what he has and we’ve caught it in enough time to prevent anymore damage.
