         Hello!

I’m currently looking to upgrade my buns condo and have a few questions. Ollie is a young holland lop, who weighs around 21/2 pounds. he is very active and spends upwards of 6-8 hrs out daily with me and my family, free range in a bunny proofed living room.

hes a very good boy but is very active! as a result I’m looking to upgrade his space. He currently is in a hard bottom pretty standard bun cage which has aprox 4 feet of living space. It measures 37″ in length and 15″ in width inside the cage.

I am currently looking into these cages:

        the large http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rabbit-cage…d=ViewItem

        the smaller one:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bunny-Mini-…4446559%26

both cages have more living space, with 91/2 sq feet over two levels for the smaller model, and 15 sq feet living for the larger model over two levels.

I wanted to know if more living space is best over two levels or, if i should be looking for a single level condo with more living space for my boy. He has no issues with little balconies, as he has had them before, therefore I foresee no issue with the ramp. but I just want to make the very best choice for my boy.

furthermore, if anyone has had experiance with this seller or their product reviews would be so very welcome!

thank you all for your time!

The second one is too small and in my opinion the first one is too small as well. I think that they should be at least 4 feet wide by 2 feet deep.

It’s interesting that this person is selling these on ebay – have you tried costing out the supplies on your own? But these do actually look very nice and basically they give you every premade it sounds like but you have to make the grids yourself.

as it stands, I really am unhappy with the width of his current condo.
I haven’t tried to cost everything out, but I may give it a go
            thanks for your feedback

I made a two story condo using NIC panels and other materials for my 2 Flemish measuring 98in long x 42in wide x 56in high. All said it cost me roughly $300 but I also bought some tools and such so it was a bit cheaper then that. Now the building the cage took 2 days but I was a first timer. The buns love it, and I doubt you’d need as big so it’s an option for you.

Those are extremely over priced for a “kit.”
If they were actually assembled it would be OK to pay 2-3 times the material cost, b/c you were paying for someones time and labor.
As it is though, all you are saving time on is buying the supplies.
Those look to be around $40-$80 worth of supplies and you still have to “assemble” it.

Check out anyone of the many tutorials not only on this forum and website, but all over the internet, and make one that fits your needs perfectly.

Looking at those, I wonder… If people will pay that for a “kit” I wonder what they’d pay me to come to their homes and custom design one that fit their space and make one?
I’m unemployed and could use the money.

3 grids X 2 grids is the smallest you want to go for a single rabbit. It comes out to about 8.1 sq ft (bottom level).

Off the top of my head I know that you can get a pack of 23 grids at Kmart for $19.99. You’d need two packs so that’s $40. You can get plywood, cut for free, at a hardware store for $10-15. Flooring for around $10-15. Zip ties for about $6. You could build something a lot better for a lot less, I think.
