Hey guys! Some of you may know a few months ago I bought a store bought hutch, and removed the lid and added my own little custom top to it, as it was too dark having the lid on. As Belle is to be spayed in a few weeks and the buns are already pretty well bonded, I dont see there being problems with them bonding so I am already planning how to alter their habitat so it is big enough for two! Barney is a dinky little thing, Belle is getting rather large!
So here is what Barney has currently, Belle is in a plastic indoor cage as she cant live with Barney and she isn’t litter trained (ARGH) so she cant go on wood or carpet

The thing is about this hutch is that the top level is sloped towards the back as it was supposed to have a roof on it, therefore ensuring that rain would run off the roof. I am actually completely considering buying another one of this exact same hutch, as it is all in pieces I can put it together how I want.
So here is my plan (maybe) – to buy another one, and instead of assembling it in the recommended order I want to flip the top section of the new hutch so that it fits like a jigsaw with the top section of this one, as both top sections of both hutches are slanted so I need to rectify that. Does that make sense?
Then the bottom section of the new one will go on top, again with no roof and I will put the little picket fence back on. Thus making a huge 4 storey hutch.
I would love to build them something else, but the ONLY space I have to work with is upwards unfortunately now that I’m at uni! Any help/advice would be appreciated, I have no idea if this will even make sense to anyone
I’ll attach a pic of the store bought one so you can see what I mean about them being sloped

Thanks! Anna, Barney & Belle xxx
