It hasn’t been for lack of trying… all of the pics I try to take of her she either looks like a little black blur as she’s doing zooms, or just the fact that she’s black and extremely furry means the pic doesn’t turn out.
.
Without further ado… Hera bunny!

Sorry the pics are a little big! But anyways, there’s my girl, in all her fluffy glory, LOL!
VERY CUTE!!!
She’s so fluffy I’m gunna die! Lol
Love your siggy by the way
Adorable.
Though, her fur looks like a pain to keep groomed!
Thanks guys! And yeah it is not very fun to keep her well groomed, LOL. She at least doesn’t mind being brushed, it’s the process of being picked up, carried to the couch, sat on my lap, and having to sit still while I groom she doesn’t like. I didn’t realize Lionheads were THIS furry! Her hair is crazy thick.
Awes!
What a little fluff muffin!
She is adorable, I can see how she was irresistible. <3
How has the bonding with Zeus been going? I’ve been away for awhile and need to catch up.
Are you sure she doesn’t have some Wooly in her? She is FLUFFY! Just like my Wooly, only he doesn’t have the DO. =D
Super adorable though! Love her!

No actual attempts at bonding, right now they have seperate cages in seperate rooms, but can see each other 24/7 (Zeus in living room, Hera in kitchen, no door seperates the rooms). Seperate out of cage time, but each bun gets free roam of the entire apartment when loose, so they tend to like visiting each other. They like to lay with each other between the bars, Zeus has attempted grooming her once through the bars, but there’s still an occasional growl/nip. So I’d say they coexist pretty happily, but I’d still be very wary to let them loose together.

Honestly, I have no idea. I’ve never actually even seen a long-haired bunny in person before her, so I’m pretty clueles to the long haired breeds. She does seem way fluffier than pictures of Lionheads I find online though, and her hair isn’t silky like a Lionhead’s seems to be in pictures… it’s very wooly, and very similar to the texture of a sheep’s wool.
Any guesses on her breed, if not 100% Lionhead? Vet’s office didn’t really bother to guess, they just called her a long haired rabbit.
She’s still pretty little though, right? Dwarfish? Jersey Woolies were originally created by crossing Nethies with Angoras. So if she is small, there could definitely be some Jersey Wooly in there. She is very fluffy and “crimped”, just like Wooly’s fur. He doesn’t have a mane around his head though. I have seen Jersey Woolies with a little more of a mane though.

Hmm, I need to find a better pic of him. This is how he works with thinned-out fur. It’s an old pic.

Tee hee!
Oh what a cutie! Her hair looks very similar to the second picture. Crimped is the perfect description; it’s not silky and smooth and straight.
She’s quite small… not sure on her weight, however. Under all the fur I’d say there’s a definitely good chance of being dwarfish, She’s probably about the size of 3 guinea pigs, LOL.
According to the vet, Wooly weighs 3.1 lbs. I don’t think he weighs quite that much though. The girl weighed his carrier that has the weight written on it. I think she just subtracted that number from the total weight. But… there was extra stuff in the carrier, so I’m sure it weighed more than what the sticker said. LOL
What a cute little fluffy muffin!!!!
And Wooly is super cute too!
More pics of them both, please.
I would go insane brushing that hair! One of my shih tzus has decent hair, but he likes to lounge around outside on the deck for several hours a day, so summertime cut for him. As for the other… well… he doesn’t have the proper coat, he’s all undercoat so he stays trimmed all the time. I can’t imagine even trying to keep Hera or Wooly’s hair groomed! Rabbits are so fragile, I’d be afraid I’d hurt them!
Hello!
The same breeder I got Muffin from has this similar looking bun,
She calls him a fuzzy Lop, “Fuzzy Lop, Black Otter”

It has definitely been a learning experience having a long haired bun to groom for the first time.. I’m very lucky she doesn’t seem to mind the actual process of grooming. I do think she actually appreciates being all tangle-free afterwards, she usually does some binkies/zooms after she’s done, LOL.
Muffin; Hera is slightly smaller than that bun, but her hair looks very similar. However she does have short hair along some of her back, the super fuzzy hair is mostly on her head, shoulders, chest, a little bit of her back near her shoulders, and her underside. It is funny though, when she gets zooming real fast, her “mane” covers all the short hair on her back! ![]()
