I recently adopted a 4-month-old bunny from a breeder who, unfortunately, did not trim her nails before we got her. I wanted to wait until the bunny was adjusted to her new owner and living situation before I trimmed her nails so it wouldn’t be so tramatic!!  Now that the time is right, I need to know some ways to make nail trimming easier and less stressful. Any suggestions?

Some bunnies are really calm about it if you just hold them with your hand underneath their front legs and their butt in between your elbow and side. You could also try to him him/her in between your legs or a bunny burrito but that puts them into a trance it’s a preditoary response.
If you bunny has white nails you can see the quick cut maybe two or three cm in front of it, if your bunny has dark nails you can try the press press clip method or use a flashlight to find the quick

I think it’s all about finding the easiest and least stressful way to restrain them. One of mine is fairly easy to hold, so my husband holds him with his feet facing out, and I clip. My other hates to be picked up, so she’s easiest if we hold her down on a counter or table, and cover her eyes, then pull out her feet one at a time.
