  Cannoli had a poopy butt when I got home from work yesterday and I have no idea what caused it. I’ve moved all buns to my room to try to combat the poopfest that goes on in one section of my room. Baozi has sometimes been antsy in this “new area” but she’s been doing great with Cannoli. They’ve been in the “new area” (they had access before already but it’s just now they are penned in that area) for a few days and the morning of, no signs of anything wrong. After I gave Cannoli a bum bath, there were no other incidents.
  
  But, when I came home from work… omg… all over the carpet, towels, toys, bum all caked, etc. It was like poo smeared all over the place. All three were just at the vet this past weekend. In fact, I though the incident was from Mantou who just went on new meds. Advice? Anything to look for?
  
  Also, how do you fully clean caked on poo on the carpet? I used vinegar and nature’s miracle but still needs more.

  Has there been any diet changes recently? If not and it continues, I would suggest you get a sample and bring it to your vet for analysis.
  
  Not sure about cleaning the carpet. Hopefully, someone else can chime in on that?

  No diet changes? Anything strange in his environment that he could have eaten?
  
  For carpet cleaning, I have heard that baking soda can help, but I’m not sure if that’s just for smell or also for stains.

  Nope, no changes in diet. Fed same veges he’s ate before without issues. Haven’t seen re-occurrence since.

  Are they really loose, or like mushy cecotropes (think slimy bunch of grapes) or are they muscousy? Loose may mean stress or diet, mushy cecotropes can be stress or diet, mucousy is very serious business. Any could be parasite or other illness, but I’m leaning towards stress maybe from the move; some are just more inclined to get loose from small changes than others. I would still suggest the vet to be sure. Hows Cannoli eating? I would say the things to watch for is loss of appetite and mucous in the stool.
  
  For the carpet I’d say borrow or buy a carpet shampooer. We got a bissel one that doens’t heat up (you just add hot water) for less than 100$. Its wonderful, but a lot of people own one so see if you can borrow one. It should clean everything right up nicely.

  If it’s chronic it would be a good idea to get a fecal test.

  And it happened again today… What’s going on?
  Can it be too warm for him? It’s been warmer on those days but not above 80 but he has a lot of fur.
  I just see clump of poo. Washed his bum and when the brown poo washed away, there was a string of small jellyish poo? And there spots of pure liquid poo here and there all over my carpet.
  
  Hay, veges, and pellets eaten just like normal. No change in what I’m feeding him.

  I would suggest a fecal test.
