Hi guys! My bunnies are about four months. All were litter trained but now one of my females has stopped using her litter box! She goes outside all the time and hasn’t touched her box in almost two weeks. My other female has destroyed her first litter box and has now started to destroy her second box! We use the corner pans with the metal grate since she likes to chew at the litter and then she starts having mushy poos all over (very sensitive tummy she over produces cecals) what can I do to fix this? They are still too young to be fixed but will be once they reach proper age.

Well, it’s really a challenge because they are at that age even if they aren’t ready to be altered. I would try a larger box though and perhaps try to clasp it to to the side of the enclosure.

I will try a bigger pan for the one who goes outside of it. She’s using the corner one as a bed. And the one who destroys her box has it attached to her cage but has chewed through most of it and we just bought it last week. Do bunnies always poo outside of their litter box? For the most part one of them poops in and out of it. Will this change once they are fixed? Is it ok to line the cages with fleece fabric? I saw a few people on YouTube line their c&c cages with it.

They’re at the age where this is extremely common. They are going through puberty and getting territorial, so they are marking their own territory against the other rabbit. This should improve once they are fixed.

It’s common for all rabbits to leave a few poos outside of the litter box, often because they stick to the bottoms of their feet as they jump out. Many bunnies don’t actively poop outside of their litter box though.

It’s definitely ok to use fleece in the cage as long as they aren’t eating it. Some bunnies will pee on it since it is more absorbent than the cage bottom, but many won’t. I stopped using it on the bottom of the cage because my bunnies just bunched it up and sat on the floor.
